... alternatively who were a 'waste of time' so this is a discussion about people that in some way at some point were important for your life and/ or your career. People that gave you good advice, people which taught you important facts, people that may have even given your life a meaning (like your husband, your children, your friends etc.). If this is a rather difficult question for you you may also opt to talk about the people that did NOT play an important role in your life and which you wish (in retrospect) to have dumped or never met. to start with, here are some of my 'favorites': of course, my parents (guess that will be the case for most) * some of my maths and some of my physics teachers gave me a sense of how important those sciences are to understand things and even myself. They also felt the same urge that I feel to know more about how stuff and how nature works. * that does not include the ones which would read the newspaper and drink coffee during class or those who would rather talk about completely off-topic issues for almost all of the time

Aside from my parents, husband and kids, the one person that I am most grateful for touching my life was my former boss. We are no longer in good terms now, but that is another story to tell. Anyway, he did helped me a lot in terms of realizing that I can do so much more aside from being a mom and a person who have just wanted to be a doctor. Well, I never became a doctor, but I took up dentistry and worked in a pharmacy for 10 years. I didn't know much about computer or the internet. But he was very patient in teaching everything that I needed to know. I just hope that we could talk again someday and forget everything that has come between us. It makes me sad thinking that I have lost a good friend.

it is good when the people you work with are constructive and helpful. This way you were happy to learn more and to discover further of your abilities. I wish you that you can become good friends again, good friends are rare! Thanks for sharing!

There are loads of people that plays or that have played a very vital role in my life. I think they came my way for a reason that is to help me... me today. I thank them all, not maybe one by one but I have said a prayer for them, they may not hear my "thank you" at least God did!

I would say that my Father and my Grandmother were the two most influential people in my life. My Father taught mostly by example. He instilled in me the great desire to learn. He also taught me to be moral and righteous, just by watching him go through life. My Grandmother gave me the gift of doing things with my hands. There is nothing one cannot do if one just tries. She taught me so much. Both of these beautiful people have been "gone" for many years, but they are ever in my mind and in my heart because of the gifts of life that they gave me.

Hi Adoniah, Teaching by example is a great method and I remember at school the pupils always asked for examples to better understand the meaning and use of what we were taught. Our hands are the most important ''tools'' of our body. So I understand why you consider your Grandmother also as an important person in your life. thank you for sharing

Yes, of course my family will be on top of my list...my mother, father, brother, sister, niece and nephew are the great person that complete my life....they are being followed by my best friends Heidrun, Hati, Alejandra and Contessa who accepted on who I am and what I am without hesitation...really, they are my best of friends...and I can't live and would not be on what and who I am as of now without them.
