I have these really old electronic here that I wish to throw out or give away. The computer monitor is the huge old kind, I have at least one of those. They both still work as far as I know of. Then there is the TV that is old and made years ago before the digital era. I just don't know what to do with them all, I have some old computer towers too. I don't know the proper way to dispose of it all. I need to take the hard drives out of the old towers first, right? Otherwise my valuable info will still be on them. I have to make more room here before I go bonkers. It is all taking up toooooo much space.

Hi nailtech!
Just recently I bought my new refrigerator and having a small house, I had a problem about space. It's good thing that my husband found a junk shop who could buy the old appliance. They also buy our old television set and an old electric fan.
Maybe you could also visit a repair shop if they want to buy those things or if not junk shop will surely do.

Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot you came from US and there might not be one in your area. Junk shops are buying junks such as old appliance so that they can still get parts which can still be used for other purposes.
Have a nice day!

I think you can give it to charity or give or sell it to your neighbors...

Those things are valuable in the future. You may not notice the value of those old electronics right now but in the future it might be recognize and being significant in electronics history. I think better to build a space and put there for good. You might need it in the future.

I have my own appliances too like TV, sofa, and double deck bedroom. Just like you I have problems with space so I gave them to my cousins and mother and they liked it. I thought of selling them but the problem is people just want to buy it so cheaply and it's not worth it. Other options are donating it to institutions that cater social services like home for the aged, children homes, etc.

Yes I believe donating is not a bad choice at all. I am pretty sure your old appliances will find a happy home and you will get in return a tax write off. A win, win situation with a extra bonus of good karma.

You can format your hard drive and that will wipe it clean.
I took all my stuff...big old monitor, tower, keyboards, speakers, all working, and dumped it at the rubbish dump. No-one wanted it, it's all obsolete, it takes up space and there was nothing else for it.
There's going to be more rubbish than anything else soon.
