As a Christian, how do you keep focused on Jesus Christ at Christmas? I collect Nativity Scenes which I display in my living room. I try to avoid the commercialism, and attend Christmas events that revolve around my family and reflect my faith. What helps you to stay focused on the birth of our Savior?

For me, the first thing we do during Christmas is go to the Church and praise HIM. Christmas is the day to celebrate Jesus Christ birthday. We also thank to GOD for HIS sacrifice. Jesus sacrifice starting from the day He was birth. He sacrifice His place in heaven and humble Himself to be with us here on earth. Rejoice for his coming and celebrate it by giving Him prais ewith allt he Christina inside the Church.

Hi!
Ever since I remember, when Christmas comes, the most talked person is Santa Claus. But now, I know the true essence of Christmas is Jesus Christ. And so, I feel sad when I notice people being focused in santa claus, or the Noche buena feast. For me, Jesus Christ should be the center of it all not just during Dec 25, but evryday of the year.
I try to focus on Him first by reading the Word of God. Second is through prayer and worship. :D

As much as possible I don't want to put Jesus as the center of a pagan tradition. Christ never was and never will be in Christmas. What I do is to keep myself focused to Him everyday, even though it's not Christmas.

The essence of Christmas is giving. Here we believe Jesus the Christ, the Only Son of God who gave himself up and became man like us to save the world and the humanity. There's nothing wrong with buying something new clothes or whatever things you like on Christmas season. If you also think of somebody out there who lives in scarcity of basic needs. Don't be too damn not to know what I'm talking about. I'm saying, learn to give some used clothings and many other usable materials you may consider not anymore useful to you but worth-having by somebody else. Let other people smile for this season of Christmas through your generous giving and you're able to focus on the birth of Christ.
