After a long time, after a much awaited 16 innings Sachin scored 76 runs in the thirs test match at Eden Gardens today. Even though it is not a godd score as far as the pitch is considered but eyeing on the prevailing conditions he batted well. I think this half-century will help him to ease from his critics to a certain extent. In my opinion when everyone failed to stay on the pitch atleast for sometime, only Sachin showed some kind of responsibility even though it was his need.

thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Yes it was great to see Sachin under the runs and i hope with this score he has given a stern warning to all those who were throwing mud on his form and performance.
Although we were all expecting him to put up a ton but still it was pretty satisfying that at least this time we wont get see a discussion being made on his retirement plans. Again the Indian team did not support him and they faltered yet again.
What say?

It brings some relief not only to Sachin but to his fan's also. However it isn't enough to believe that he has recovered his actual concentration and form. Next few innings are very important to his cricket career.

Yes it brings some relief to his fans too. Yes he need to perform a little more in the coming innings. And I am sure that he can do it, let us hope he score another century in this series itself .

I think he has been in nice touch throughout the series, but has been getting out to either good balls or that moment of concentration lapse. Again he was timing the ball brilliantly on the first day. But again, after the drinks break the concentration lapsed a bit and he was dismissed. But anyhow that was a welcome half century by the little master.
Cheers!

The way Sachin has played overall in his career, this was anticipated. Still, let us not overgo, and expect him to play a great innings everytime, and be patient in our judgement(s) and responses.

He did score some valuable runs for the team in the 1st innings and top scored it. It was a long time coming, and absolutely would have felt the pressure of not scoring runs and after Pontings retirement all eyes would have set on him...It was really satisfying to see his knock, but should have scored more looking at the pitch...let us see what does he do in the 2nd innings.

Yes it was indeed a good innings from the master blaster. And again he replied to all the questions with his bat. He realized that his team is under pressure and reacted very well and built up a good partnership with Yuvraj .
