i remember i used to cram when i was in college. cramming gives me this special thrill and excitement. and when i'm about to reach the deadline, i feel like my project would have been better if only i had more time to look for more information and materials.
my advice to all students here, please avoid cramming as much as possible. of course it will give you a higher grade. but the more important thing is you will not regret that you've given all you can give and do.

Yes, you're right. I also regret because I also had some experiences of cramming when I was in university. LOL. I guess the earlier to do the projects and reviews, the higher grades you'll get. Goodluck to all of you students. Do your best at all times. The world is getting more and more competitive nowadays.

You're right there. I am a degree holder but unfortunately my job isn't stable yet. I've been working at my present job for four years already but I want something more stable. Your grades are your key to get good jobs.

When I was in undergrad school, I crammed all the time for papers and exams, and yes it did seem like my grades were better, but I agree this is not the right way to go. A person is only hurting themselves when they use this method because as you stated you do not get all you can out of the subject that is being researched. And you don't retain as much information in the end either. Now that I am in graduate school, I start working on an assignment at least 1 week in advance so that I have time to research and collect all the necessary information.

it really is frustrating when you know you can do better in some projects. but because you crammed, you just got a lower grade.

It's one of the problems I am trying to solve now. My indolence is just one of the things I couldn't get off my system easily and it really takes it's toll on me. I would regret situations where I know I could have done better if I started earlier but when presented with another similar situation I'd just do the same mistake of waiting for the final hour before acting on it.

you're not the only one guilty of this problem. sometimes you know what you should do but still don't do it. i guess you just need a stronger will to do what's right.

Yes, definitely.. i am no longer a student but i also did some cramming in school before.. I think most students do that, especially now that using the gadgets makes making projects easier..

Cramming is not good especially during examinations because definitely it will give you lower scores. It is better to study or do our projects earlier before the deadline because it gives us satisfaction and be able to do other things instead of rushing. well, sometimes we can not really avoid cramming especially when it seems things are happening at the same time. That is why time management is also important.

it's really hard to memorize when you're panicking. wanting to do a lot of things in a really short time. you should just study earlier and relax the night before the exams.

Hmm.. in some aspect, cramming can also do good. Your adrenalin is pumping so you can exert all your energies on a certain thing. Your concentration or focus are better. http://voices.yahoo.com/how-successfully-cram-college-final-exam-5966210.html?cat=4
But your advice is good. and I will not contradict to that. yes, study and work before time. so you have more time to relax after.

I am working towards my second Master's Degree and know how hard it is to cram. I have gotten better by not waiting until the last minute to get things done when it comes to schoolwork, but when it comes to other important things like cleaning and right now Christmas I have been cramming. I used to cram when I first started college, but as I got into the higher years of college I realized that cramming does not work. My class finished the Friday before Christmas, however my instructor has put our assignments up so we can get ahead. I have been working hard getting things done early so I can do other things as well.

I survived all my educated life in a sort of cramming and I tihnk it works for me. I can't vouch for it when ti comes to otehr people. However, pretty much all of the people I know and my classmates love to cram and gossip. But many of them still excel in their studies. Of course, i do prepare but it's not the ultimate preparation.

Hello.
Well thanks for spreading the wonderful discussion. Though I never crammed myself but I had lots of friends in the past who crammed hard day and night. They even got wonderful scores. I was never advised by anyone in this regard but since I got good grades by just paying attention int he class I never felt its need. And if there is any student here reading this or any parent, then I will also advice you the same. Until and unless one understands what he or she is studying there is no use at all. Anyways have a nice day friend...
