Gboko is a town on the North of River Niger. Gboko is the centre piece of the Tiv tribe in Benue State of Central Nigeria, about seventy (70) kilometres off the coast of River Benue. Gboko is the traditional headquarters of the Tiv nation of Benue State. This is where we have the stool of the paramount chief - The Tor-Tiv as well as the Chairman, Benue State Traditional Council which includes the Idoma, Igede and the rest tribes in Benue State. Gboko town is predominantly inhabited by the Tiv who are predominantly farmers. The Tiv people are lovers of human race and welcome all and sundry visitors from all over the world. Everybody in Gboko receives cordial relationship from the Tiv people and are treated as such. A short stay in Gboko would convince you and you would never want to leave but stay forever. This is possible for the above reasons. In Gboko you will have a lot of foodstuff such as yams, potato, oranges, pineapples, mangoes, ginger, soy beans, banana, cassava, millet, beans, maize, guinea corn, bennyseed, melon, pepper, sheanut, groundnut all of various kinds in commercial quantity, to mention a few.
