About the Marriage before 1430 years

Of suspicions raised by Jews and Christians against Islam's prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, he married Lady Aisha at the age of nine (some say it was in the sixth and this is not true) What do you think about that? Can we judge by the standards of our time now on what the people were doing more than 1430 years? The discussion is open to all, and I welcome your comments .

A lot of people accuse prophet Muhammad peace be upon him of marrying a 9 years old and call him by bad names. They think they are doing a good job hurting the feelings of millions who love and respect him. I see this as a failure on their part that they failed to find anything wrong with the life of our prophet and have nothing else but to look at the culture and tradition of 1400 years ago and match it with theirs. For them couple living together without marriage and gay/lesbian activity is acceptable but a legitimate marriage is bad. This is the level of their ignorance and hate. I would like to share this article about the marriage of prophet Muhammad and Lady Ayesha written by Yusuf Estes who was once a Christian priest and then converted to Islam. http://www.islamswomen.com/marriage/ayshah_and_muhammad.php

Can I take it that this was an arranged marriage? I worked with a woman from India who had an arranged marriage, but she wasn't so young. Someone ask her once if she loved her husband and she said, "I learned to love him." At the age of nine, I don't expect Muhammad loved his wife, but did he learn to love her?

Obviously it was arranged marriage. Islam does not encourage pre-marital affairs.

To me who is a muslim, I take it as Islam being the answer to ALL solutions. At that time when a girl had her period, she was considered a women. Even now there are 9 year olds who got pregnant. In my opinion, what Islam's prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him had done was set an example for these young pregnant ladies and when the situation arises, we shouldnt look down on them. Instead if good men are willing to marry them and take care of them and their pregnancies, they will, in Gods will be well taken of. These are solutions in Islam and be applied only when necessary. These days most nine year olds do not have the maturity to be a wife. However I stressed that 9 year olds in our time can still get pregnant but non muslims will take every opportunity to bring it out what they think is bad in Islam. Is it better if the 9 year olds pregnancy be aborted just because non muslims frown upon it? It just shows that Islam is way far sighted and advanced and is a path to make everybody happy. Only Allah swt has this ability.

For me, I think marrying somebody at a very young age is good since it is not love that caused you to marry her. But as you say, it was before then that that is actually their practice. In their time, it is acceptable but in our time I think this rarely happens.
