Well, with some change.
I spent around $35.00 broke up into two transactions because the cold stuff I got while I was on my break, but the other stuff I got before work. I saved $15.00 via coupons and store deals. I think that that is pretty good but I'm not exactly proud of myself yet. I still have a lot of coupons to use, and may do another trip on Friday to get the rest of the stuff I need.
I also used savingstar.com with the purchase. I bought Mccain fries which were on sale at my store for BOGO and savingstar had a coupon I'd save like 0.50. Well really get 0.50 back but you know what I mean. Then I bought a box of honey nut cheerios, and I'll get like 1.00 back for that purchase.
So not bad at all.
I was going to get some more chilis and a can or two of tomatoes to do tortilla soup again but decided not to as the main purpose of the trip was to save.

All too often we go out with the intention of making a saving or getting a bargain, only to spend what we have saved on something else. I guess that the real point is that if you bought something that you wanted then it's a bargain. I've seen so many people buy something that they don't need because it 'was a bargain'. My step mother used to buy food that us kids didn't like because it was cheap, and half of it would end up thrown away because we wouldn't eat it- hardly a bargain!

This is very true, you have to make sure it is something you are going to use or eat or it's just a waste. When I go through my coupons I ask myself a few questions that was asked of me when I was little.
1. "what is the price?"
2. "are you going to eat / use this?"
If I say no or maybe I wait or give the coupon to someone who will. I don't buy what I won't eat.

I am so glad that you have started and your first try went really well. That is a good saving. I was wondering if this means that you physically put the savings separately somewhere to save the money or do you just buy extra stuff that you need? If it were me, (but we don'thave coupons out here) then I think that I would try to put the savings in a separate account so that I could see how much that I hd saved. But that is just me

I have thought about that and may call my bank and ask them to set me up with another savings account that I can do this with, but this is only my first savings. I need to get used to it a little more and just what I can save before I do this.
The savingstar.com allows me to save as well but not in the same sense, they give me money as if it were a coupon and I can cashout in several different ways. I think I may use amazon to cashout with so I can get gift cards, in this way I will be saving them for a few storage ottomans that are needed.

Everyone loves being able to shop and save but here is my question, did you earn any points online for using coupons such as Swagbucks or MyPoints?
All shopped and ready to roll come festive season?

I have to figure out if the printer that we have they still make ink for. Though I may upgrade anyway. I use several sites and do the videos for them, daily polls etc to get amazon GC's. I don't print my coupons as a lot of times they don't work but I might print them once in awhile.
I paid very little to get my coupons in comparison.
Not all shopped,I still need to buy one or two more small things.
