I have a 1 year old son and I started babywearing him since he was like 6 months old. For me, it's already too late to have started babywearing him. I should have done so when he was a newborn, but during those times, I didn't know yet about babywearing until I stumbled upon a few blogs and articles that describes babywearing and its advantages, and some moms and dads who shared their experiences about babywearing. So there, I decided to buy a ring sling and off we went to our babywearing journey, and boy, must be love! My baby likes being worn and he always almost fall asleep whenever I wear him in the sling. It took a little practice for us with the ringsling but when we learned it, it was truly awesome! My baby is already a heavy boy so it really helps lessen the weight whenever i carry him, like say when we're strolling at the mall. It's even more convenient that bring along our stroller. Then I read about the Saya Babycarrier, it's a hybrid carrier that very much resembles a baby wrap, only that this one is already fixed and no need to wrap around your body, you just need to get the right size and off you go and wear your baby. It's more comfortable that the ring sling for me but my baby and I enjoy any one of our carries. Such a really great buy for us! Babywearing is really love. I am planning to get a mei tai or a pouch. We'll see in the near future. How about you? Do you practice babywearing too? What carriers do you use? :-)

I am an extreme baby wearer. It makes life better for baby and mom. I have my two and a half year old on my back right now so I can type and she can snooze. She is 35lbs and giving me a work out.

wow, congratulations tangleddream for having done babywearing that long. I can feel you. Haha. It's nice to know that you are still babywearing your little one at two and a half. you're right, it definitely makes life better for baby and mom, the bond, the love, everything babywearing can bring. I'm so glad myself that I have come upon babywearing and proudly wears my son all the time. He's 14 months now. I always wear him when we go out on malls and some people really look at us with those looks like, "what is she using to babywear her baby?" Some even ask me what I use, because I don't use soft structured carrier, I have a ring sling and a SaYa carrier (our local brand, which is very similar to a Baby K'Tan or a moby wrap). How about you? What do you use to babywear your baby?

Unfortunately, I never tried babyweafring coz all my kids were a bit heavier for their age and placing them in such would literally cripple me. I just used strollers everytime we go to the mall.

Yes I did, was wearing them whole time with me, even during cooking etc (on the back or my side so not the belly). On my belly I only did as they were very small/litte (all born too early) plus during winter going outside (that way I could check them plus cover them under my coat. They also slept with me in my bed. I think this is normal in most cultures. And no.. there was no problem at all if I wanted them to sleep in their own crib or bed and they all have a lot of self esteem, they can be alone, play alone, no fears. I think this is the most natural way.

we do that too. i am always left with our baby at home whenever my husband goes to work. sometimes my baby doesn't want to be left when i do chores so what i do is babywear him using my ring sling, very convenient, right? so true, babywearing has so many advantages, and you get to become closer with each other, more bond with each other. so love babywearing indeed. :-)
