What says "The holidays" to you?

Is there something that just makes it feel like the holidays are here for you? A smell, food, sight or sound? For me it's the smell of a real tree and our holiday float we drink only at Thanksgiving and Christmas. (Equal parts cranberry juice and ginger ale with rainbow sherbet)
So what's that thing for you?

For me it's all the tinsel and bunting and Christmas songs playing in the shopping centres and shops.
I had a surprise the other day when I went to the post office. They have a full sized waving Santa near the front door and he "sings" Christmas songs.
I was so delighted I felt like a child again and sang along with him as I left...Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

The Christmas music would be number one for me. Then comes the Christms tree and buying all the presents, especially for my granddaughter. The excitement she shows makes me remember when I was a child and couldn't wait until Santa Claus came around that night. And of course, getting together with the family for fun and laughter...love it.
