Indian bowling line up isn't a consistent penetrating power in international level. But Indian batting line up is still better in international level. So Dhoni's calculations are going wrong relying spinners and ignoring batting power.

Indian team batting is not good when compare to england. The only difference between this two side is their batting not their bowling.

@ karthik,
Indian batsmen are facing a world level fast and spin bowling line up. Still they have scored 3 centuries including a double in 2 tests completed. On the other side England are facing a bowling line up with inconsistency. India has no weapon to tame Cook. That is the actual unbalancing factor between the teams. It may be for the 1st time that Cook getting so many runs against a bowling line up.

I think it has misfired big time for two main reasons. Firstly this lot of spinners that we have are hardly penetrative. An off spinner or a left arm spinner are usually support cast for a penetrative leg-spinner. Instead here they are supposed to be the ones to take all the wickets. In the leg-spinning department both Piyush and Mishra are mediocre at best. England boasts better spinners than India at this moment. The second reason is that our batsmen are themselves less equipped to play spin these days. With the T20 effect, they are less patient and tend to go for the strokes even when caution might be more advised approach!!
Cheers!

Yes you are right. There is no plan B in the hands of Dhoni. But at the same time all the Indian captains have resorted to this plan itself, but they succeede in it. In this conditions I have to say only one thing, Indian players inluding both batsmen and bowlers and xaptain himself are not playing well, not playing up to their expectations. That is the reason for all these losses and there is nothing wrong with the pitch.

His plan already backfired in second test match against england. As you said, he don't have any plan B which becomes major problem for India.
