Why Am I the Only Person Asking Questions about Islam, the Quran & Muslims?

Are people afraid they'll "offend" somebody who has access to WMDs? Or are most people content to 'know their own religions, which tell them that all other religions are peopled by infidels'?

I know you have too much ask, and this couple days you ask about Islam.
Or tend to testing the belief or faith of muslim.
Ask this and that, argue this and that.
You also do that for Christen in the past if I'm not wrong.
Your first avatar, tell that you are an Ortodox, Judaism or somekind like that. From the clothes that you were wearing.
Now you have change it with Budha's symbol.
Did you upset with your first faith and want to try to look another?
If you ask me as a muslim will be pleasure to answer. But if you tend to justify and make a judgement that you aren't know anything about.
That will be a different case.

All religion is Buddhism (a word that comes from words that mean 'following an Enlightened/Awakened One,' which all religions are---Christians follow the Apostles (the disciples who followed Jesus), Buddhists follow Buddha, etc.)
"Christianity" is the best way to learn 'WHO to follow' (and no, it's not anyone in the Bible; though whoever you find may pattern themselves after someone in the Bible).
'Religion' is more like 'the language a group of people all agree to speak, using code-words at key times in everyday life to strengthen their group.'

Please remember about Muhammad's way of da'wah. Was he always talk about qur'an to everybody, everywhere, and every time? as long as my experience about Islam, Muhammad always make him to be the "example" for other about the beauty of Islam's values. So, i think Qur'an is very important to be learned to our self, understand it, and make us to be an "example" for others about Islam. On our words, mind, etc.

I think it is mainly because you are currently reading the Qur'an.
Obviously there will be a lot to ask but I sincerely think it is very hard to understand the Word of God without proper guidance specially when one is not very well aware of their culture, history and traditions. Still I wish you continue reading it and see for yourself it does not order to kill all the non-believers or even to hate them.

Hi Mythociate,
You are welcome to ask questions about Islam, we Muslims love it as long as you don't make a blanket/offensive statement.
Nowadays there are loads of materials that shows negative Image of Islam. Of course there are many people spend lots of time only to bash Islam, pull verses out of context, show some points which really not in Islam and publish it as the material of Islam and they refute it showing Islam failed.
Islam is not a new religion came to Arabia, Islam is the way prescribed by God, since the humanity came to existance, it is the way how a human should live life made by the creator of humans.
The last and final edition of user manual for humans revealed by Almighty God is the Quran, which contain all the essential instructions. It revealed to the final Prophet and Messenger 'Mohammed', and he got additional instructions and he shown the ways and he is the role model for a Muslim, his traditions and life recorded in a special way and classified them to grades, those authentic traditions are known as Hadiths.
So every human in this world supposed to follow the instruction from Almighty God, and should live according to God's instructions, However God has given us choice to follow or not to follow it. Those who follow his guidance will be successful in this life and in the afterlife and those who do not follow it will be in failure.
Almighty God is most merciful and he is just as well. He has promised never ending paradise for those who follow his instructions in life, and he has made never ending hell fire for those who don't follow it. So who lead life here by accepting his guidance and or deny his guidance will be treated justly as per the promise of Almighty God, the Creator, sustainer, cherisher of everything.
So to understand Islam, Understand Quran from cover to cover not by picking some part of verses, learn about Prophet Mohammed from right sources. For sure Almghty God will guide you and you will know the aim of this life.
Peace.

well--most religions teach that you're not supposed to be curious about "the other guys"--it's apostasy (or worse). After all, if you go out and start asking questions about other religions, then you might find one that suits your own beliefs better-- and you are also considered to be questioning the validity of your own. Kind of like employers who take a dim view of their employees submitting applications with other companies, or going to job fairs--after all, if you are doing that, you're looking to leave your current job. Same thing with a religion--as many religious groups feel that if you question, if you are curious, then you are not a true believer. If you were a true believer, then there would be no need to be curious, nor would you be. A rather asinine point of view, but understandable when you're in the G-d business, I guess.

I guess I would draw a parallel with Jesus' parable of the Prodigal Son, wherein the church-fathers (NOT G*d, whom they think they 'represent') are 'the Father who Owns the Farm,' and Truth-Seekers are the Son(s) who got fed up, 'asked for their inheritance' & went 'outside of the Father's ken' ...
oh, the STORY goes that he 'wasted his inheritance'; but ... it doesn't matter WHAT happened to it, just that he didn't have it when he came back.
I wonder if they'll give ME an 'inheritance' if I 'leave Our Father's house'

Hallo, What are you trying to tell about? The best thing is talk the good things you find in your religions but never disregard or disgrace other religions. Remember people have their own right to choose their own religions.

Discussion about religion tend to be quite heated. Discussions about Islam tend to be avoided because the minority believe all Muslims are on Bin Laden's speed dial. They rest of us do not want to be seen as racist or ignorant.
I live in the north of England and my kids went to school with muslim kids...
I have no problem talking about Islam - It would not bother me
