What would you say is your biggest lessons you have learnt in your life?
Are there any experiences that has really changed you and the way you think?
Or is there a person in your life who has done this?
Life brings us so much lessons which I believe is what life is probably about.
One of my lessons is how poor time management can really affect your personal life as well as your work.
I tried out a self employed opportunity and I had some time management problems. This made me spend more time than I should have, I had no structure, plans or schedule and just went along with the day hoping for the best. This affected my sales figures as well.
I have now stopped this opportunity and am currently working part time at the moment. Because of my self employed role I have now attempted a system to try to improve my time management.
I decided to make a planner book to help plan my life and give it more structure as I find writing stuff down easier then having it all in my head. Sometimes it can get forgotten.
I have practiced goal setting, action plans and making deadlines for myself. I realized that I have never done this in my life before and this is the first time I have ever done this. I like writing notes to help me to see how I am progressing and if any problems arise, I write down what they are and how to overcome them.
This book is now something I love as it helps me to practice a good skill I can improve by learning and by practicing. It helps me to see how I am learning and what I need to do to improve.
It is the best thing I have ever created. It is a good thing I did this self employed opportunity as I am sure I would never have learnt this as an employee. It made me so happy to learn this. I am so grateful for all my lessons.
Another thing I am thankful for is doing my administration placement before this self employed opportunity. If it wasn't for this i would not have thought about writing stuff down. A colleague spoke to me about my time management and prioritising work loads and advised me to write stuff down to help me to do this better. I am new to admin so was a bit slow as never done this type of work before.
Her advice of writing stuff down along with me distributing and collecting catalogues (my self employed opportunity) which I ended up hating really helped me with something. Hopefully it will help with my success in life for my future.
I also learnt about goal setting and action plans on this work placement because it was a charity where one of their courses was to help unemployed people get into employment and this course had goal setting and action plan exercises I printed off for the course.
I knew of action plans and goal setting years ago but never quite knew how to do them.

Hi shining star: Though it's almost impossible to summarize a whole life in a single lesson, I think that one of the most important reasons I have received and that I think I have learnt well is discipline. If you really want to make your goals you have to be disciplined and work hard day after day focusing on the steps you have to make to achieve your dreams.

Hello Alvaro
Thank you for your reply. Yes discipline is very important, I agree. I think I do need much more of this in my life and need to practice this more too.

My biggest lesson in life really is to value your friends and family also not to take life for granted but to treasure it.
I hear you on the employment part I also struggle with my job which I have now but you could consider it to be a lesson too. How are you finding your self employment now? Hope its going well :)

Hello
Thank you for your reply.
My self employment finished in the summer. I started it around June and finished it in July.
I didn't do it for very long but learnt a lot in a short space of time. I am currently working part time as an employee. I enjoy it more.

Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.

I think the biggest lesson I have learned in my life is about choices, decisions. There are situations in which it gives opportunities for growth but other times you can go in different directions. I learned a very difficult lesson in life in such a way that it made me a better person now. I believe that making the right choices and weighing the options no matter how inevitable it can be the results would ultimately be positive.

My biggest lessons, at my short age, was luckily finding the "truth of the universe". Silly, for it all started on books about how to pick up women, and slowly shifted towards how to feel true, genuine love for oneself, awaken from the dream of reality and live in the christ consciousness. Pretty silly stuff indeed, but i love it!
