Hello Lotters,
I didn't watch the boxing match, but i've been hearing a lot of very disappointed viewers saying that manny lost by knock out.
Wow hehehe! do you think it's a strategy to lure mayweather out of the open? or is it for real? though it's obvious that Manny Pacman was indeed over confident, he should retire from boxing to pursue his business, bible studies, and even his political job as congressman.
You see if manny wasn't busy with other things too like showbiz and other stuff i mentioned above, he would have remained dominant. With ALL the distractios in showbiz, politics, business and religion has cost him this lost.
Not all last forever...one thing sadder than this lost was that all of victories that he had all this decade, the country and it's people remain the same.

I am not a boxing fan, not even a Manny Pacquiao fanatic.
But I am proud of him not because he is a Filipino- but because I have faith and believe his strength.
I saw the last episode (a friend send me a recorded video thru livestream) and I know it's "just a luck" for Marquez....Manny still the CHAMPION for me and every Filipino for sure

Well said! Cheers to this post!
He has to focus on one thing he think is most beneficial not only to himself but also to his family, his countrymen, and his million fans all over the world. I personally think that this is the turning point of his boxing career though the other side of my mind is hoping that at least he ends his career with flying colors.
Well, we just wait and see what will happen next.

Hello Jaihosis, I used to be a Manny Pacman fanatic but after a while you get to outgrow the whole thing because it's just a sport and gamble. most people are happy because they win the bet every time manny wins their bets increased. but people should understand that he is also human who needs to rest. yup your right he will always be champion for all of us.

I agree with Jaiho... It's just a luck for Marquez, because Pacman has no defenses and was very open to take his punch. And one thing also is his direction, he made himself clash with Marquez' punch. But in fairness to Marquez, he also did his best. After all, it's just a game...

Exactly my sentiments! Both of them gave their best and it was a good fight. However, Manny should really consider retiring after this fight. I think that he really needs to focus more on things that needs his immediate attention. Boxing gave him his millions. I think he had enough of it. It is time for him to step down and let others take over.

Hello Jenny1015, I don't think so, but if he doesn't leave showbiz and poliltics then he should retire. the next fight will be a greater defeat for him. well, not sure who's taking over but i think there's still a lot of him there. unless he loose to an underdog, he can't quit just yet. he can just recover and go back to the gym with full focus.

Yeah! Maybe you're right! Most especially if he still holds a contract with Bob Arum for another year, then quitting boxing is really not his option right now but rather his other responsibilities.

I tend to agree with you that His career is on the downside already. He is so distracted by so many things already and I think he became complacent on his boxing preparations already that there are times that he ignores his trainors' advice to continue his training in abroad and instead stayed here and did his own training while doing some other things that really did not make his training here that good anymore. I think he should focus on only one thing in life.
Plus the fact that he is not getting any younger. I think age also is catching up on him already, he may not be accepting it to himself but physically though he is still above average to most men of his age, is already taking its toll and starting to degrade as well. Physical strength no matter how strong and physically fit you do on your body will still go to aging process and everything will wane in time.
Well as to the people changing, I guess I do not think a person like Manny could really change a nation. I think a nation will take some time to really see change really happening. He may have made us proud with his victories but his influence is limited only to this.

I still believe that he is strong man at his age just as I stated in my post. But I think there is always slowing down and weakening in your body as you grow old of course. I think with the many factors coming in his life, age, social life and political life in his activities I think it has greatly diminished his real focus on the bout and was divided.
Well as a country we can be united when he has fight and we always see to it that we are at least updated on it. But of course he is only one man who can just inspire a nation but could never influence everybody. It should be a collective movement and no boxing match can really change a nation. It is a difficult and painful process that a nation must undergo.

Hello rsa101, I still think he's stronger, only distracted and drained from his showbiz and political career. besides, he's still strong enough to make marquez bleed so hard, but he got caught off guard with one mistake. another thing is that marquez was studying his moves over and over again. well, what a waste if manny wasn't able to change the setting of our filipino viewers to be more active than reactive.

No matter what, Pacquiao is still the people's champ, Letran.
Just like you, i didn't watch it, but instead went malling because i was confident that he will win. But when i arrived home and opened the TV, what i saw was that very moment where he was knocked out. I saw him shake a bit when he went down and have shouted out of worry. But i am happy he's okay as the scan have revealed.
For me, he might as well retire now, since he has other things to be busy with already.

Hello Simplyd, As much as I wanted him to retire i doubt he would do just that because he's still younger than the dynamite. i really didn't watch the whole thing i think. a lot of people think he should retire but that's for them to say, manny knows his body way too well.

If Manny could be a good sport being the first directly affected and take all of it with grace and stride, then I don't really see a reason why the Filipino people cannot follow he's good example.

Hello louievill, He has more wins than few of those loses, there's no doubt he can come back again. I have read it in articles that he lacked conditioning and that's what prompt him to lose the fight with Marques, not to mention he's got a lot of distractions in him. well, he can come back if he wanted to and make that last fight.

The loss of Manny is very saddening. Pacquiao's ability as a boxer is obviously declining and finally age is catching on him, but whether he likes it or not he still has a year of contract to finish with Bob Arum and during the interview they are hinting already for Pacquiao-Marquez5. And if Manny can comeback and wins convincingly against Marquez on the fifth fight, I can see the Fight of Century coming true on December of 2013!
Hope Pacquiao is alright and has no any permanent injury at all. He has a devastating loss and I hope he can recover physically and emotionally from this debacle.
Have a great evening!
Ciao!

Hello romzee, I wasn't that sad because he got way too busy on his hand both showbiz and politcs had consumed him. i don't know if manny is going let go of other things, but one thing is for sure, if he doesn't let go of it he will surely loose again. marquez has more injury than pacman but the knock out was purely epic.

hi,
i think that Filipino accepted the failure of Manny, still Filipino believe in the ability of Manny when it comes to Boxing,of course we can not take out the feeling of every Filipino the hurt feeling by this loose of Manny, and aside from that they said that the punch was a lucky punch only.

I was planning to watch the live streaming in one local TV station, but when I heard that Pacman was knocked out, I turned off my computer. I am really so sad.
Yes. You are correct! Nothing changes. Whatever Pacman achieved has nothing to do with us, with our life. All of us should strive hard to earn a living. Politicians should stop using Pacman for their vested interest.

Hello wittynet, there's no point of watching it if you can hear it in the raiod. I think he should be considered a huge inspiration to the people but if they are only amused and not inspired, tehre's no point of him going to the game anymore. well, people from showbiz, politics have use pacman for their own benefit. and that is the saddest part.

The humility in accepting his defeat and the unwavering sportsmanship that he's been showing in all his fights are something to be greatly admired for in Pacquiao. He may have not won it but for people who understand his life principles, he's still the winner for sure. Nothing can be glorious than letting GOD'S will be fulfilled.
