I really would like to download a good quality torrent file. Each time I search for a torrent, I just can't seem to figure out which of those are good ones? Are they not harmful to my pc? I'm afraid they might have viruses in them.

The only safe torrent files are the legal ones, which , which are only a small proportion of the overall content available.
Torrent sites are the main outlet for many Linux distributions, which are certain to be safe to download because they are supplied by the operating system companies and there are several other sources of similar respectability that use this sytem of distribution. However, the majority of torrent relate to pirated material in the form of videos, music and software, so these are supplied by the everyday users and there is little chance of knowing what exactly is contained in the files that are downloaded.
