How do you help others?

We can all do something to help others. Sometimes it is helping a neighbor or even helping a complete stranger. I crochet for charity, by making squares to sew into blankets for children with AIDs in South Africa. I also make hats for the homeless. There are many ways, even small ways, in which we can help others and therefore, make this a better world to live in. How do you help and support those in need?

I try to help the homeless at my church. I wish I could do more for them. I go on sundays and wed. nights and help cook them dinner there. I feel good, when I see the smiles on their faces. God bless. See you here soon.

Really nice ,the smile on their face helps us to realize what is life all about. In college we used to donate money to an orphanage and used to visit at times. we used to feel so happy by the smile on their face.

I do money donations mostly through my church because they are accountable and do not spend most of it on administration as some agencies do. Secondly, I work in a program where there are many needy people on limited income. I do more than I have to for them, because no matter how broke I am, I have the potential for more than they do. I try to also provide a good ear and listen to what they have to say and what they want. One of my favorite things to do is to donate blood platelets. I usually do it about every three weeks. I am blessed by having an abundance of healthy platelets and I know that people with different kinds of cancer and bone diseases, etc. lack these platelets. I have a blood type that can be used quite a bit. Platelets can only be stored about five days so they need a constant replenishment.

I live in a bldg. that is all senior citizens and believe me I have plenty of opportunities to help people. There is a lady who lives next door to me who uses a walker, She always has a bad time getting in and out of here door. If I happen to be in the hall and see her struggling I help her get in or out by holding the door for her. I also help the activities director in the building when she's putting on a party. I help set up, sometimes serve people food or drink and help her clean up at the end.

I am a member of a senior's group, not boosting but I am one of the younger members, as my husband is a little older than me. I am amazed at how the older seniors are so cheerful, even when they have a hard time getting around. Some of them are more helpful than the young people and often, more happy. Anyways, the group of seniors that I belong to, support and encourage one another. Thanks for sharing about how you help other seniors.

Dear Zoe, I teach adults how to read. I have been a reading tutor for nine years. I also serve on the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council. I was just appointed to the council this past September. As a council member, I advocate for people with disabilities throughout Maryland.

You just reminded me that i gave others helpful suggestions frequently and unselfishly. I think this kind of behavior is also a kind of help, though it is a small hint of business. I used to help a lot of guys online, and they always sent back me some positive feedbacks. I remembered once I established a group to help other candidates to pass an advanced English test. Of course, I have successfuly passed it before, but it still remained clear in my mind that I have confronted plenty of difficulties and obstacles, leading a twisted progress. In this way, I can share them my experience to avoid twist and turns. Sometimes i also met online some freshman who is intended but unfamiliar, at this moment i also can show my patience and spare all my energy to make a clear description from the scratch. As far as i have enough spare time, i will certainly bury my self on their questions. I feel very satisfied in this kind of Q&A, for my advice really help them a lot afterwards. I feel such a great achievement to help others under my advice. What are the most important is that they are really effective.

You are just so kind to help out both causes. Am sure your time is very much appreciated. I donate clothing to a local charity. I help out our kids when needed such as buying food, paying a bill or staying with the grandkids. Since I am retired, I have plenty of time to help out where I can. One of these days I'll learn how to crochet. Bless you.

I love to crochet, so I will crochet baby layettes for new families that come int the church and have babies. I had crocheted two baby dresses for little girls in the church, and the parents really appreciated it, and it made me feel good, knowing that I had dome something good for others. I am also doing hats and scarves for the homeless. since I am older, that is my way of helping others. i gan a blessing from helping. Take care, and have a great day.

I try to extend help in any way possible. I wish I could give more, but since I am just an ordinary person and with no job, the little things I could do is to give street children food or give old clothes to our rice field tenants in the provinces.

Their is no standards on how to help others. You can help even in a simple way by just actually giving directions for those who are unaware of the location. But as of now, just a few weeks ago our country was devastated by the strong typhoon and many families suffers from the casualties and damages left. I'm not reach but just a penny I tried to help.
