I have been doing so much of the same kind of writing that I feel like making a change lately. I want to do dofferent types of writing, to choose my own topics, to share my knowledge and to be paid better for the quality of writing that I deliver.
I have begun to take action on this desire by submitting a knowledge-sharing article (first in a series on a certain different topic) to a company I have not written for in several months. I have also researched the latest trends and best sellers in ebooks and digital publishing. My nest step is to write my third ebook and self-publish it, using Smashwords and Amazon KDP. Then I will write press releases to promote it. That's just a bit of my plan so far, to change things up a bit and make myself happier in my work. I'm starting to feel better already!
What changes are you making in your work world?
Best wishes! :-)

Wow. I must say, that's an impressive plan. I also want to write some articles and have been searching on a good article from my line of interest to start from. Since I am not a professional, I signed with HubPages yesterday and I will publish my first article later. I want to write there to get some experience and criticisms to improve my writing. Hope all will be well on your best laid plans and good luck!

I am looking for a change in writing, but exactly the opposite of yours.I have been writing my personal blog where I write mostly related to health.I have tough time promoting it and it is not giving any fruit so far.So I am seeking for sites that would offer me topics to write,so that promoting and marketting it will be their job.I would get paid for my writing alone,so that I can concentrate on it alone.Do you know any such sites being a little liberal in accepting articles.I am not an experienced writer.

I know that they are hiring writers in Odesk. Although my friend said that the snapshot pisses her off because it just take pictures randomly. HubPages and Nuffnang are the only sites I know. I have not yet visited these sites and I don't know if it will suit your topic so please search for it.
Writers Weekly
One Spoon at a Time
Make a Living Writing
Dollar Stretcher (my friend writes for them but they do not have Paypal, only check payment but is paying $0.10 per word)
I don't have any idea about these sites. I just remember them. There are also other sites that my friend has mentioned. But I forgot the rest.

Thanks for your generous responses and well wishes, greenthumb and narnia!
In my experience, if you just want to write and have someone else do the marketing and promotions, then content writing for places like Textbroker and ContentCurrent could be what you are looking for. Both are based in the States, but hire good writers around the globe. So long as you have strong writing skills, reliable web access and can handle deadlines and editing input, you're all set with them. There are other similar companies in the States and Europe. Just do a search for content agencies or content writers needed and you should find them easily.
Nice list, greenthumb. Some of these are new to me. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes! :-)

Greetings, Belinda
I am making some heavy duty changes to making money. While in the market to get a job, for over two months I've been unemployed making change online. I've been scammed numerous times and at the same time, doing some writing. While I love writing, I have joined some sites that requires choosing articles to write for, but I find myself writing about topics that other people write about. Someone bought it already, so I guess it's working! Best wishes!

One can easily make $200 per week or more writing for content agencies. There's no cost to get started, and they usually pay weekly via Paypal. Once you establish yourself as a strong writer, it's possible to receive invitations from clients and project managers to join writing teams, in which case you can be paid more per article. You can do this from home, while you sit with sick family in hospital, while your children sleep, after your regular job, even while you're sick at home or disabled. Some of my friends pay their bills every month and support their families with content writing. It doesn't matter what country you're in, so long as you have web connection and a keyboard. And the job outlook is very good.

This is one thing i like in this site, the comment exchange where new ideas and very helpful tips are laid out by just reading and following the thread. This is a really nice forum site. And thanks bluebell18,, for bringing up this topic , it`s the very same thing that. I`ve been pondering about. Could writing be paying enough more than a regular job off the Net? Hmm just asking, tho`. Thanks.

Well, in my current offline job, as a Supervisor, I am now starting to work what my Financial Analyst does. In that way, I can very well train myself on what our job is all about and that I can already relate what their ups and downs are.

I too have been making some changes in the way that I earn online. However, the changes that I've been making are not in the way that I write, although I do have to admit that I intend to start doing more online writing after the start of the year. I've seriously been lacking in that area for a while now.
Instead, I've been being more serious about the work that I've been doing online instead of being really casual about it. I will also only try out one new site at a time and will try to make their payout to see if they are actually legitimate before I will start working on the site permanently. It seems to be working for me because I'm definitely making more money now than I have in the past.

Good for you. Yes we have to make good changes that brings you somewhere. My husband has a submition sent already to an Editing house already and is waiting the answer. I myself, not exactly a writer but an artist. I have told myself to keep practicing this year a little bit everyday what I've learned 20 years ago.

Welcome beenice, and thank you for the generous response. It's so nice to make another artist friend, and with a writer spouse, no less. As an artist, I recommend the Foundmyself online art community, Etsy, Zazzle and CafePress for selling your work online, if you're interested. Best wishes to both of you! :-)

Thanks for replying, maria. I agree things can get slow for us this time of year. Things usually begin warming up around the first of February, when the world is getting ready for Valentine's Day money seems to flow into the pocket a bit more readily. Best wishes! :-)

Great to see you again, jeanne! I agree that the new year may be causing these ideas in part. If you really want to write, nothing will stop you. You will find a way to write in the middle of family activities, and while the house is quiet. Nothing will stop you! Let me know if I can help you in any way with your writing. Best wishes! :-)
