Our English professor suggested our class to have an account here in MyLot to enhance our English speaking skills. Actually I'm not really good in English, sometimes I made it to wrong grammar but it's part of learning right? I wanna be confident whenever I speak or talk to somebody which is fluent. :D Good Evening :)

I would guess your English professor is a myLotter it is nice though that your professor suggested this site. There will be new myLotters again and for sure you will learn a lot here. The only to become fluent in English is to practice it. I am not so fluent in English too. Before working overseas, I worked in my country and whenever I would have an interview for work, i find it difficult to speak in English. Not that I don't know how to speak English, but it's because we don't use it as everyday in my country, we talk in our own language. Somehow I have learned to express my self and talk fluently in English. 'Though still not perfect, still needs to learn a lot. Btw, welcome to myLot. Did your professor told you, you can also earn from here, besids the learning English stuff?

The more you speak English with others, the lesser the nervousness you'd feel and will lessen the feeling of being conscious on others we think might hear us speaking wrong grammar. By then you will be very confident talking to others in English.

Yes she is. Actually I owe her much for sharing this site to us and she really wants her students to learn English and be confident using it. you're a great learner and I'm looking forward for myself too. In our class whenever a professor calls my name I get nervous especially during our English class but of course I want to avoid that.So I'm really striving to learn. Yeah she mentioned that :D

Hello Erica, welcome to mylot family. I am sure you will have a great time here. I am shocked as well as surprised to know that your English professor actually suggested you to join here so that you could enhance your grammar. Well, I literally do not know what to tell you. I am feeling reactionless right now. Anyways, yes, It is indeed a great place to enhance your english speaking skills and I am sure you can improve your grammar to a great extent. We are all also here to learn and I am sure along with a lot of english, you will learn a lot of other things and as far as I am concerned, I have learnt a lot about life here. Welcome to MyLot. The very FIRST thing you should do, I think, is to make sure that you do NOT have two accounts here! I believe that http://www.mylot.com/AlpuertoErica is also your account. If you do not delete it immediately, you are liable to lose BOTH accounts! As far as English is concerned, as long as you can make yourself understood, nobody will worry about whether your English is not perfect. Many people use MyLot to practice and improve their English and find it very helpful!

Are you your professor's referral? LOL. I guess you won't improve your speaking skills here. You can improve your writing skills because you are writing. When we say speaking, you utter the words. yeah, you are talking to us here but it's in a written form. When you want to improve your speakings skills, it's better when you talk with someone in English. However this site will let you earn money. You're right. You're here to learn. Don't mind your wrong grammar. When speaking, you are voicing our your thoughts. Sometimes grammar is no longer important especially in casual talks. Keep on posting. Welcome to myLot!

This is a very good place to work on your English speaking skills. One thing to consider, though is that not everyone uses totally correct grammar here! Most people do but some do not.But it is still a great place to practice! I need a Spanish myLot so I can work on Spanish! Anyway - welcome to myLot, I hope you enjoy it and I am sure you will meet some very helpful people along the way.

It is true that you can improve your English in Mylot. But it is likely to pracise your written and reading English skills rather than the spoken English skill. If you want to improve your spoken English, you shall have a voice chat with foreigners by some chatting software.

Hello EricaAlpuerto! It is really good you made an effort to have an account in myLot so that your English writing will be enhanced. Me too. I am struggling sometimes to express the feeling and thoughts I want to say. But maybe its all about practicing. Some say practice makes perfect but for me practice will make progess right? And if you get some progess you will so much proud of yourself that you made such progess. As a person telling kindly to a beginner like you, I suggest you just keep practicing speaking in English. Watch english or foreing films or movies. Read blogs and read books to enhance your vocabulary. A lot of people succeed just by reading and being spontaneous. Maybe at some point of your life you could have a good communication ability to use as a lawyer, sales man, writer etc. Goodluck to your career!

I can say the same thing as the other mylotters said, practicing your written English, not only particularly in myLot but in other websites and forums too, would be a great help. Just talking to your friends from different countries online would help you improve your grammar. Also, I can't help but think that your professor suggested this site to his students so he/she could have a lot of referrals, lol! XD SO..did he/she send you a referral message, I mean all of the students in his classes?

Haha I never heard about that teacher or professor will suggest student to have a account in mylot, that is very interesting. But I think that is right and really wish you will have a good time at here, you no need to worry about your grammar, actually if you do not have enough confidence first you can write down your response in the microsoft word first and check by the microsoft word. Then you can feel free to do your responses.

I am not sure if you can improve your English speaking skills here since you're not speaking but typing. You may pronounce the words wrong. But it is a good place to start with then listen and watch some youtube english proficiency videos. Not all people here can discuss fluently (like me) but is trying hard. If you're determined to really be fluent, then stop communicating with your native language and watch American movies and cartoons. I hope this helps and welcome to myLOt! :)
