Why did this happen?

I just noticed earlier today that one of the discussions I had started has been erased from the website. It question I asked was "what states have you been to" (of the United States). I am wondering if maybe someone posted something bad in it that I didn't get around to seeing or if it's because someone else posted the same topic in recent times, because if I remember right I think you can not post a subject that has already been made within a few months or so? Either way, I am pretty confused as well as disappointed, but I would like to hear from you guys what some of the reasons are that discussions on myLot can be deleted. Thank you :)

I didn't see that discussion, but based on the title I think it's probably because it was a poll type question. Have you read through the discussion guidelines and FAQ yet? Those pages will give you a general idea of what sort of discussions aren't okay here, so you can avoid them in the future. If you haven't seen them, you can find them at http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx and http://www.mylot.com/o/faq.aspx

Ren, I was not trying to repeat your response in my box below, ok... I really thought no one has responded to this yet when I typed mine. Well, you'd probably know already I do type slow here...

My skates were faster today, but not by much!   :P I can't tell you how many times I've written something only to delete it because someone else came along and said it better than I could before I posted my response. lol

Thank you very much! I feel much better now knowing this. It is completely my fault for not reading up on the rules. I always do these things when I join websites or download programs, and so on and so forth, I skip over all the stuff you have to read. I guess I am very impatient/lazy. But I do appreciate it.

Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines to understand the Do's and Dont's here: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx My guess is that discussion may fall under "poll type". And if you find this discussion also get deleted, it may be due to "individual issues you are having with myLot"

hi mawdest did you read the guidelines as in there it tells you all the do nots in making a discussion. you got your discussion deleted I believe because you made the title a poll taking title asking all what states you have been to is taking a poll and is a do not.do read the guidelines as the do nots are all listed there. this is easier th n making a my otter type a l ng long response to tell you the rules the do nots of making discussion. its easy to read and to understand too so go help yourself since you know the do nots then you can be careful in making your discussions. like you could have made it personal telling about what startes you have been in and then just ask what is your take on this fellow my lotters? that is not a poll type done that way.also read the FAQ's as you will need that information also.Welcome to my lot and h ave fun and make friends here tool

Wow I never thought about doing it in that sort of a way! You are so smart, haha. Thanks a bunch. I will keep that in mind for the next time I try to start a discussion with similar things in mind. I appreciate it a lot. Have a good day

I responded to that discussion. I kind of knew that might happen because like others have said already it was a poll type of discussion which are not allowed here. I responded because it was a fun one but I knew that would probably happen. I'm sorry, I hate when discussions are deleted when they are fun ones like that! =( But we all have to follow the rules here... I hope no more of your discussions are deleted!

Hey, it's quite alright. I understand we all have to follow the rules and what not. It's quite understandable :) And I hope the same, that not too to many of my future discussions are deleted haha but I'm sure a few more shall get deleted but that is just how it goes I am sure. I can be a bit clumsy/cumbersome at times.

The main reason why discussions are being deleted here is due to the violation of the rules. There are several guidelines in starting or responding to a certain discussion and if you do not know these things, this might be the reason why your discussion is deleted. I suggest you read and familiarize yourself to the FAQs and GUIDLINES to avoid these things. That's okay, that is a part of the learning process

I understand, thank you for the time to help me out here. There are a lot of rules to try to remember that is my only problem that I will probably make a few mistakes in the beginning but I'm sure I will finally get a hang of things eventually. Cheers!

Thank you! :) Haha.. The only problem for me really is my short term memory. I am still a young person but I do struggle with memory problems for some odd reason. Maybe the scapegoat I will use is suffering a few concussions as a child.. Haha no I really do not know but anyways.
