'Tis the Christmas Season. So Merry Christmas to all around the world. It would be fun to let us know what Merry Christmas sounds like in your language. I think in Dutch (if I can remember how to spell correctly) it's Zalig Kerstfeest. This year, my daughter is working on Christmas day so we'll have Christmas a week early. And to stay in the Christmas spirit we'll invite a single mom who has nowhere to go. Any different plans for Christmas this year?

Hello my friend gtargirl Ji,
Well, as a wife of retired soldier, during service career, we participated in all festivals without understanding it's religion base concept. There was only one thing, to celbrate with all available resources . People of that community will go deep into many stories and tell others. But since almost 20 yrs, here in our locality, there are no Christians living, but Net is perfect media to exchange our greetings. Happy Chrismas to all of you.
May God bless You and have a great time

I live in the Northwest of US and ours is Merry Christmas. lol I am here with my daughter and her son. He will be home from school from December 20 until Januaary 1. He will open a present every day from the 20th on. We'll have a traditional christmas day dinner of turkey and all the fixin's. It seems so strange not to have the big family dinner I recall as a child. There were atleast a dozen of us. To me that is a real family dinner. But you have to work with what you have.

We will be spending it at home on Christmas eve with my two unmarried children. On Christmas day itself we are planning to spend it somewhere else with my eldest son (now married)and his family. From the Philippines, "Maligayang Pasko sa lahat" (Merry Christmas everyone).

Hi gtargirl!
One of my plans is to complete the simbang gabi(dawn masses for Christmas). It is a nine day dawn masses which will start on the dawn of 16. This is one way of giving thanks to all the blessing that I received this year and most especially for passing the recently conducted examination in our department.
Merry Christmas!

I do support Christmas charity. One year, when my children were young, my husband and I were in financial difficulties. We received toys and candy for our children from a charity because we just could not afford to get them Christmas gifts. I often wondered why we received so much that year. Perhaps it was that a few weeks before, my husband and I realized that we could afford to buy one child a small gift, but not three gifts as we have three children. We bought a child who was in greater need than our own children a gift that Christmas. Then, I guess that generosity came back to us, as we were able to have a wonderful Christmas that year after all. I always try to give to a child in need each Christmas.
