I ate about 700 calories today

Being that I didn't eat any bread or rice or butter I didn't take in too many calories. I had raw veggies and fruits and a couple 8 ounce glasses if skim milk and a cup of peas and 2 chicken wings. Being that I have not had any salt my body has been losing water like a water tap. All that fluid eight I gained has been unlocked. I'm not hungry anymore that I'm not eating those processed carbs. I'm not craving anything either. Don't be alarmed about the 700 calories. That's quite a but for a gastric bypass recipient because of the small stomach. I have felt so good today. Better than in a long time.
I'm going to make meatloaf tomorrow and make it into patties like hamburgers. I will just eat 4 ounces of it. I haven't weighed my food in a long time. Now it's really important to to keep me on track.
Near Christmas I will make some chocolate chip cookies and buy a key lime pie but K and I made a pact not to eat any ourselves. A taste in the mouth isn't worth going backwards anymore. K is my inspiration. My brother and niece are also. My brother has list about 170 pounds and his daughter (my youngest niece) lost 100 pounds.
I have been eating way more than I am now with the bread and mayo and margarine. Now that I'm leaving that alone I can lots fewer calories and get more nutrition. I'm so glad S is helping out with providing the fruits and veggies when we need it, because u can't do it all by myself.
Your thoughts?

Well actually i don't really observe how much calorie i ate everyday. If i can have what i wanted to eat then i'll eat it. I am not really conscious about that. But i think i somehow eat some fruits and veggies a day, so that would be good at least.

I keep up with what I put into my mouth. When I stop tracking I start gaining. Any time I relax on my habits I lose less or gain.

that is wonderful, I bake most of my food, use very little margarine, never put margarine on my bread, just the mustard, we use low cal miracle whip which has less calories than margarine.
I ate at T's house and boy did I taste the oil in is fried food, I didn't like the taste one bit.

I wouldn't like the oily taste either. I don't eat any bread except when it's in meatloaf. I didn't think I could give up my bread, but I did and u no longer have IBS like i used to. I had gas so bad I ciuldnt go anywhere without being embarrassed. I never have any issues anymore. I didn't realize it was the processed carbs that was causing it.

That's great your staying away from all the stuff that is bad for you and eating healthier now. Congrats on the weight loss and for your siblings as well. I need to start watching how my calorie and sodium intake is per day because I tend to go overboard with the sodium and need to cut back. My new years resolution is to eat healthier and cut back on alot of things like my soda drinking and the frozen meals I get for work. Hope it works out and good luck to you as well for trying to lose more weight.

We never buy soda anymore. We used to get those dollar 1 liter bottles or the 2 liter ones. My daughter quit first and started drinking water from the rap in the fridge door. I can't seem to drink plain water well, but flavored water with crystal light I can drink lots of. I lost 8 pounds overnight when I stopped eating foods with salt in them. Everything you buy that us processed has loads if salt usually. When I stopped that I was in my way.

It's great that you are eating more healthfully and seeing the benefits of that.
When you make the meatloaf, it would be a good idea to incorporate a lot of veggies and, maybe, fruit in it. You could incorporate carrots and apples in it, for instance. Or, you could do apples and cherries.
I am thinking about making some further changes in my diet--not to lose weight but to help myself feel better. I've heard good things about going wheat-free, but it feels like a big step to me. Plus, I will need to be certain to add in the calories in other ways, since I haven't any weight to spare.

Yes it is amazing. I eat a little more than that sometimes. But yes, my stomach is small still. It holds 6 to 8 ounces at a time.

Hi Aunt Hatley! I'm so happy the medication helps you. You are right, weight loss helps to put diabetes back to normal when a person has type 2. My brother lost so much weight he no longer takes medication or insulin injections. He is even off blood pressure pills. I'm so proud if him. I'm so happy that I am getting clothes from my daughter. I want to keep losing as she gets smaller. She has a plethora of high dollar clothes that are always being given to her.

I don't know how you do it. I am not big on alot of raw vegetables and do not care for skim milk. You are a saint to be sure. You are doing just perfect for having had a bypass operation. I do like key lime pie. One idea about the meatloaf. When green peppers are in season you can take the hamburger and meatloag ingredients, add some rice and stuff the green peppers(cut off the tops ofcourse)and bake in the oven. Less calories and they are delicious. No, you can't do it all by yourself. You seem to be doing fine. I am very happy for you. How much do you want to lose?

Yes I like stuffed peppers. I'm staying away from rice. I make my meatloaf mix with a box of stove too stuffing. They love it that way. I put some ketchup on the inside and on the outside of it. My SIL makes a little pig if himself on it. I love it too but will only eat 4 ounces of it. You can read up above in the next box to see what I prepared for myself to eat. I drank almost a half gallon of water yesterday. I will do the same today. I weighed myself this morning and I'm down 3 pounds from yesterday morning.
My dentures are getting a little stained light orange from eating raw carrots. I'm so happy cause I don't feel hungry now like I used to. Chewing on carrots and other rabbit food satisfies my need to chew.
I have my coffee on now so when I get up I can get on with my day. My exercise is housework. I clean the floors by hand. It always works for me when I don't have the gumption to walk around the block. Too much nerve pain for that yet.

Im starting a diet now (the Mediterranean diet) and I think I will also check a little bit on the calories I´m eating. Sometimes I think that I´m not eating so much, but I´m lying to myself. The only way, I guess, is to put it in paper. I am eating mainly fruits and veggies too.
