I just completed a Fiverr gig to write a 1,000-word essay. Well, technically, I only put in less than 1,000 words because I have to quote a book several times. But it was a rush job so I'm relieved that I was able to deliver.
Anyway, it was a repeat order so I couldn't refuse the client so I decided to take the job. Lucky for him, it was my day off. Initially, I asked to deliver in six hours. The client wanted it done in half the time. I got the structure done in two hours, but I was short 500 words. So for the next hour or so, I struggled to churn out another 500 words.
Well, I found the 500 words and finished before the 4th hour. And that's $4 more for me.

Fiverr is good off and on, if you find the right people. When I first started I got MANY orders, then my orders declined, despite having 100% feedback and lots of orders in the past. *sigh*.

Well, the money is already reflected in my account, but it's undergoing a clearing period. After that, I suppose I can withdraw the money to my PayPal account.

Wow.Thats is nice to hear. You are a well established writer I believe.I tried that site before, but I never get gigs ro do there. It is like freelancer where so many people compete for a job and the employers prefer only experienced writers with loads of reviews.Do you know any online writing sites that would offer topics to write and upfront payment.

Actually, this is the first time I have written something quite long and got paid for it. I just like to activate my Fiverr account. It's been doing nothing for a long time so I thought I'd give it a try this time around.
Anyway, I haven't looked at other sites just yet. But I do have accounts at oDesk and Freelancer.com (formerly RentaCoder and vWorker). One of these days, I will activate them as well and offer my services there.
