With all the gadgets of today,I am wondering if households still own board games

It’s our office anniversary on Friday and as a part of this is our every-afternoon activity. I was assigned to play Dama (it’s a game to be played on a Chess Board but with different rules & guidelines) I lose. My teammates asked when the last time I played Dama and I told them, exactly a year! It was last Anniversary were I won over all opponents. Again they asked if I don’t practice and I told them we don’t have a Chess Board at home. Then I realized, we don’t actually have any board game anymore. From Chess Board to Scrabbles, to Snake and Ladders, to Monopoly or Millionaires. Yeah it’s because most of households today own any of the gadgets. Whether Ipad, Ipod, Laptop, Notebook, PC, PSP, Gameboys and every young ones have cool phones already. So that’s how traditional games are forgotten too soon.

I still have board games but no-one plays them. Do you get the feeling they are now part of a bygone era? My sister's family play board games still and lots of various card games. It's always a lot of fun.

Hi Meowchie! In our house, we have scrabbles. And I see in school the borad game Chess. Still some people are using board games. They are classic anyway. :-) Have a Blessed Christmas to come!

If those board games are cheap, I would like to buy them all. However, when I go to toys sections and check their prices, they cost so much. LOL. I just prefer playing board games using our phones, PC or Nintendo DSi XL. I still play Chess with my student sometimes. LOL. We use Skype Go GameXN GO Games (EasyBits Go games). :)

That's true! But come to think of it. The absence of these game boards does mean less stuff to keep and so we do not worry of losing a dice or chips.
