Why use Google Drive?

I downloaded the Google Drive software for my PC and uploaded some files from my hard drive to free up some space. However, I saw that it created a separate folder on my C drive in My Documents. My intention was to keep these files on the drive so that I could delete the files from my hard drive. These files were on the D drive and the folder again occupied some space on my C drive. So, what's the use of creating or using Google Drive if I cannot free up disc space. What should I do, please suggest me.

I downloaded this a day ago in my android phone. How importart if you have here your files instead of removable drive. It just remove the hassle of forgetting the drive if you need it especially if your'e out of town and have internet connection.

First of all, sorry for replying late. That is true. The use of this tool is indeed hassle free. That is why actually I am feeling like using it more regularly and also getting a backup of my data. How's your experience?
