when did people start putting up there christmas decarations

i havent put any christmas decs up yet my children keep saying can we yet and my husband keeps saying no and they get really upset some people round where i live was putting them up in november i think thats to soon we are putting ours up on saturday i love it when its christmas with all the lights up looks really pretty

I have had mine up for about two weeks now, that was the childrens choice.The childrens dad put the tree and all the things up on the ceiling, so he is as excited as the children when it come to Christmas.
We tend to take ours down on Boxing day, as we like to have room for the children to play and most of the excitement is over by the Boxing day.

As far as I have noticed, people start to put up their christmas decorations the day after thanksgiving. I think its because the last holiday has passed and people are moving up to the next one. Also its about a month apart so your not putting up your decorations and then taking them back down very soon after. I think that two weeks before is also appropriate and not time wasted. It really is up to each individual but if kids are begging, why not just put them up. Chances are they will want to put most of them up theirselves.
