The true mening of Christmas

Christmas is really fast approaching and only 11 days to go. There are lot of Christmas Parties hapenning especially different companies. I just wonder, do some of us really still know the essence why we are celebrating Christmas? Are we only looking forward to the gifts we received and the parties we attended in every corner? I dont know why many celebrates christmas without knowing that it is not written in the bible,they say it is the birthdate of Jesus Christ,but how did they know it is on Dec 25?
