Hello friends,
I am using a Sony VAIO laptop having windows 7 OS. Yesterday when I turn on my laptop it showed an error like “Operating system not found”. It’s really annoying. I have a repair disc and recovery disc and I tried to re-install the OS. But, I am not able to re-install it. Please help me, how do I repair my laptop.

Whenever I have a problem with my laptop or netbook, what I'd do is to try to get into the System Restore of the Windows OS. While switching on the laptop or netbook, press F8 many times and that will bring you to the System Restore. Choose to repair the computer. I hope this helps. Otherwise you need to contact Sony help line with your problem.

If you are unable to reinstall the OS, there might be an issue with your Hard Drive or the recovery partition. You can try a system restore if there is an application like that saved on your laptop. If this will not work, try to contact the manufacturer and provide them any errors that you are receiving.

Go to your BIOS page and see if your hard disk drive is still detected. If it is try to make sure that it is set as your primary boot drive. Then if this still doesn't work, then you have to replace your hard drive or have it checked. I hope it's nothing that serious though, because having to replace a hard drive is really a pain. It can cost a lot and the files could not be totally recovered or any at all. Good luck!
