We were in the internet library with my girlfriend and she was really pissed when I am typing because I always tease her as having slow hands because she sucks in fast typing. She even covered my eyes hoping that I cannot type, however, I can still manage to type even if my eyes are close. Nice trying my dear.
Fellow mylotters, How fast do you type?

I think its not that rare for most of the typist can really type with their eyes closed. As for you, you can also do it if you will just put more effort and dedication to it.

I really envy people who can type fast. This saves a lot of time when your work requires a lot of typing. I'm not that fast a typist. The last time I checked, I averaged 65 wpm. I have to keep on practicing. But it's a big improvement from how slow I was in college. I think my fastest was 35 wpm.

Its just a short process if you are really dedicated on improving it. Many of the typist nowadays are just taking for granted the technology they have. They tend to be attached to the way they are used to, something like watching the keyboard and the monitor from time to time.

My typing speed is ok. I don't have to look at the laptop keyboard while typing, but I have to look at the desk computer keyboard when I type. It sounds weird, but I do. I am more used to do some typing on my laptop keyboard. I find it hard for me to type fast on a desk computer. Thanks for the discussion.

Hi Kenshing,
My typing speed is really slow, in fact much too slow. I think I'll probably can make 20 words per minute but I need to see the keyboard otherwise there'll be lots of mistakes. How does one learn to touch type without looking at the keyboard. Is there any online training program for fast typing available? Did you learn by yourself or enrol in a course?

I did manage to improve my typing skills by following our teachers instruction honestly. We also had that software, I forgot the name that allows you to learn touch typing at ease. Its just perseverance and dedication. Never be tempted to watch the keyboard if you really want to improve.

90 words per minute. I self studied touch typing for I really want to learn how to touch type. The speed was enhanced when I started working and have to type really fast for my business letters and email. My office mate types 110 words per minute with 100% accuracy.
