The latest defeat of Manny Pacquiao over Manuel Marquez was not due to lack of preparation on Manny's side. For me, it was his over confidence that he could take Marquez out of the canvass once again. If not because of his false belief that Marquez is weak and his power is too much for Marquez to take he could win the bout. Manny's first knock down by the straight job of Marquez should warn him that his opponent has the power to bring him down. Are there any reason for Manny's defeat? What do you think it is?

I think the most important thing that Manny left out during his training is his strength and conditioning. I could not imagine how he was easily dropped by Marquez who has clearly less punching power compared to Cotto and Margarito. And Manny was down twice which is very unlikely from him. He can eat punches before but not in his last fight. Too much focus on boxing and no body conditioning leads to his defeat. I think next time, he should balance it out because of his other commitments or have longer training camps just like before or he should just focus on only one career and that is boxing, forget politics.

I have heard people saying the same and even saw one interview they had with Manny saying that he was over confident with himself. And yes, the way he trained was not that rigid as compared to his previous fights. Now her knows, that he can never be feeling that confident in any of his future matches coz he can always lose.

More than anything else I think the reason why Pacquiao was defeated is because he isn't very focused anymore. He is like any human who has some personal problems. Add that to his government position plus the weight of such a responsibility. Then there's his celebrity life as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he'll lose some more later so long as he holds a lot of jobs.
