I am sure everyone heard the news about this guy who killed 20 kids, and 5 adults. This is so sad. I cannot imagine how much pain they are suffering from right now. All we can do is to pray for them. I can't think of any reason why he did that. This is so heartbreaking. Those kids could have a beautiful future ahead of them.

What I have heard since about 10am this morning is that 20 children where kids 6 where adults including the shooter himself and another man is in custody as possible person that was involved in the shooting. As a mother my hearts are breaking and I pray for those families that have lost such young lives in this world.

It's hard for me to be mad at the man right now since I don't know why he didn't. But I do have sadness in my heart for all of those families that lost someone yesterday. It's hard to go any where these days with your own children and normally schools are meant to be safe places for children to go but now even that is being taken away by crime and other things. That I can be mad at that part of life being take away from children. They are now scared to go to school for those that will remember.

That's the saddest part. Those kids will get scared to go to school. They could also have some emotional problems, for those who saw their friends and their teachers got shot. Even I couldn't stand that. And as a Sunday School teacher, I knew that kids that age are really attached to their teachers and their classmates. That's really, really sad.

Thank you for the added information. My sister is already a mother, when I told her about this, she was really mad. Thank you for praying for all those families who lost their child.

Anyone who commits that crime, I am sure, must have been suffering from depression and his mental disorders may be acute. Can you imagine that normal who people are not depressed to shoot a bunch of children in a classroom? What the hell? Those children came to school to study! Even schools are not safe for children anymore. Should the weapon detectors installed at every entrance to the school? My heart goes out for all those innocent little victims.

Putting metal detectors are what they are always planning to do. And always failing to be implemented. I don't know when they will take action to prevent this kind of events.

Hello cessy bear and welcome to myLot. This is just about the most heartbreaking news that I have heard in a very long time. All those poor babies just shot one after the other. and the poor families of those babies after all they are just babies. i don't know how i would handle it even if my own child was not one of those killed. And to know that they had to be kept in the school in the exact same place they were shot just breaks my heart according to the sheriff in Connecticut as they figure out exactly what happened.

This event will forever be a scar in their whole lives. What really breaks my heart is the thought of those parents of 20 children who have to go back to their empty homes and face Christmas presents in their closets.

I have heard the news on the net. It is too sad. The murder killed his father first, then went to the school to kill his mother and the students in the school. Even he had problems in his family, he had no right to finish other people's lives, especially those children. I hope those kinds of sad things will not happen in the future.

I have not heard the news, but still - how sick you have to be to do that? This guy is so kinky and perverted, I just can't think of such thing as killing people (or even animals). And this crazy "person" killed many people, how can he even think of doing it?! Forget thinking about it, he did it... That's so terrible, horrific, ugly and repulsive. I just don't know what to say... And this insane guy is not the only one. We all have heard of a lot other cases like this one. One person goes insane and kills others... This is inhuman... I hope the families of the victims get better soon. I also hope that mankind will not witness such evil again. My sincere condolences to the bereaved.

The government is very delicate field to go into. They may have a reason to do anything, even stuff that are bad and we don't like. I don't want to post things against any government, but I will say this: What is convenient for them might not be convenient for us, and vise versa. Also, they can not prevent all bad things from happening. And still... this is so sad... Good people always suffer more...
• Philippines

Whatever reason they have... well, that just seems awfully convenient. They should do their best-est to keep people safe, especially young people. Good people suffer here on Earth because I think their reward is not in this world. They'll receive it somewhere beyond.

Thank you. "One person goes insane and kills others." That's always the cycle, which is so sad. Why does the government let all these things happen. They should have take an early action about these people going insane the very first time it happened! Ugh. I cannot imagine what pain those families are suffering from right now.

oh no no no, no long words to say, lot's of horrible things are happening these days, disasters, wars, hunger, poverty, cruelness and being so evil, truly indeed satan is now dooming the world, guys let's get back to God, just follow him and keep on worshipping him, remember the song from Michael Jackson? that song also relates to what is happening to the world right now "Heal the world make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human races", make a better place for you and for me. ^ ^

I so agree with you. If only every people in this world would get back to God then we won't have any problems. Satan cannot move in everyone's hearts. There would be no more sadness and loss. Only if they realized how much they are loved by God.

No one who does something like this can have a good reason there is no reason for them doing something like this. They are just crazy and horrible. I am so sickened by what has happened. It makes me think about what if this happened at my kids school. There isnt enough protection in our schools. All schools need to have metal detectors. Things like this happened when I was in high school and metal detectors were discussed around the country but nothing ever happened. Its like these tragic things happen and then soon after people forget and go back to their lives and then this stuff keeps happening. Those poor families this tragic even happened to. Those children will never grow up and get married and have children of their own. I cant stand thinking about it. Its so heart breaking.
• Philippines
16 Dec 12
That will never happen to your children. Let's pray for that. Even if they put protection in schools, what about the other places? I mean, things like these are everywhere. Like it's never safe. In cinemas, schools. Aargh, it's just terrible and sad how people are being killed just because of some people going insane and become evil.

I saw an explanation on another site that made sense to me. He said that such shooters feel unnoticed and perhaps misunderstood. They read in the newspaper and see all the coverage those kinds of shooters receive, how people try to figure out what the shooter had been thinking. Then, they think that they can do the same and go out in a blaze of glory.

That's probably one of the many possible reasons, but we can't be sure. If so, then he is one of the most horrible attention-seeker in the world. Killing lots of kids just to get noticed is insane, which pretty much is how they described him.

Cessy, that's really an insane act. It is really heart broken to heard this news through online on that day, where innocent children and adults are being killed. It is more sad to see those parents who had loss their loved ones in that school. No one ever thought that going to school nowadays seems very risky as well. Hope the local authorities will comes up with a much tighter security.

The facts are as follows: His name is Adam Lanza, and he was 20 years old. He first killed his mother at their home, then drove her car to the school and entered a couple of classrooms and shot 20 children ages 5 to 10 years old, and somewhere along the line, 6 adults before killing himself. The identification he had on him stated he was Ryan Lanza, which is his brother. His brother was taken into custody to be questioned, but he is not a suspect nor is he suspected of being involved. The latest update states that the victims were shot at close range, and multiple times. I also heard that the people of Newton are taking down their Christmas decorations...and, somehow, that does seem appropriate.
• Philippines
16 Dec 12
Wow. I admire them for doing that. Families of those victims surely don't want to see their neighbors cheering and dancing while they are mourning. And taking down those Christmas decorations are a sign that they too are sad of the tragic event. Really admirable.

I cannot begin to imagine the pain it has caused the parents and relatives of those poor victims, in fact I can't even contain the rush of emotion I felt while reading on the news I got carried away and shed tears. What is happening nowadays?
• Philippines
15 Dec 12
Me, too. Especially in Christmas season? Those kids who were supposed to receive their gifts must be really excited for Christmas. Now those parents who have their gifts wrapped up will never be able to give them to their children.

It is horrible and terrible. They are real victims. Heaven awaits them this time. The guy must be mentally ill. It is a work of evil. We really have to pray for them and their families.

I wasn't just terrible, it was tragic. I believe those kids are in Heaven right now. But that guy Adam Lanza... I don't know. There's an interview where one of Adam's acquaintance said, "Burn to Hell, Adam." All we can do now is to pray for the families. The Lord will give them comfort and the strength to overcome their loss.

I am so heart broken as well. I know that it will affect those families for life. And also those families whose children survive. I am also praying for comfort and peace. Perhaps we need more security at our schools. We need to seriously study what it takes to end these school shootings. Children should be able to go to school in safety and security. I am praying for comfort.

Thank you for your prayers, Zoe. God blesses people who prays for other people. So it's really a good thing that many people are praying for those families, both for those who are praying, and also those who we are praying for. I agree that the government should study and take action to prevent things like this from happening. This cycle of one-person-goes-insane-and-kills-others must really end.

I never heard this news, but thanks anyway. I was shocked! Imagine? 20kids? I think the killer was experiencing unpleasant mentality. This is not a normal move. But let's just pray for the victims.

The news says he was "mentally disturbed". One of those kids who didn't like speaking but really, really smart. The news also says that he has an illness where he couldn't feel pain. He was so weird.
