I am about to start my first online job today at odesk. At last my long months of waiting has paid off. Considering those veterans and experienced contractors in there, being a newcomer, I thought my chance of being accepted is very very slim if not impossible.
But fate is kind, just recently, I received a notice of "Invitation for Interview" from odesk. While waiting for the appointed date and time, another email come informing me I am already hired.
Last night, probably due to excitements and mixed feelings, I was not able to sleep well. Wake up early, take a bath and prepared myself for my first day of online job. Reviews my research notes, my laptop, ballpen, extra papers, calculator are all in small table.
My official login time should be 10:30 a.m. But I was online already at 9:00 a.m. At 10 a.m. I have entered our virtual odesk room to be in the company of my teammates. I was about to login my official time when all of a sudden, there was a townwide internet blackout.
I found out there was a major repair being done by our internet provider so I immediately go to the mall to buy a substitute internet broadband. It takes some hours for me to do that thing. So that when I came home and installed the internet broadband and immediately open my emails, You know what I read.
"YOUR CONTRACT HAS BEEN TERMINATED". My oh my, why oh why...
You may not response to this discussion, I am only voicing out my disappointments and frustrations. If at all possible, only learn the moral lesson.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm working in Odesk as well and I know that it's very hard to get a job there nowadays. Don't worry, another chance will come and you'll be hired before you know it. Don't despair and just think that maybe the job is not for you. Continue to apply and take various tests and strengthen your resume. Write to your client and tell them what happened. They may write something negative. It is still appropriate to write them in spite of what happened.

OMG!!..what a disappointment you mast have faced.
But that client and that project were not the end of the world. They were the first of a long list of clients and projects. I am sure there will be many more coming and you will have many pleasant experiences in the very near future.
