I worked yesterday 7am-330pm at my normal job and then I worked 445-11pm at my 2nd job. My 2nd job I work in an urgent care facility. But boy was it a long day for me but I will have 9 1/2 hours in my pay check when we get paid on Thursday. But today I am making up for it I have slept most of the day away it is 4:30pm right now and I'm still exhausted. I have a horrible stomach ache and I'm not sure why. But I am repeating this shift next Friday night too. Do you guys work 2 jobs or get over time when asked to at your job? I'm trained in different departments so whenever someone calls off or they need a shift covered I take it whenever possible. I love the extra money.

Hi blondie! My online job is my second job. Because of this I have to wake up very early so I can do my online jobs without setting aside my permanent job. I also work during weekends online because I don't have to go to the office. It is really exhausting sometimes, but a rewarding experience for me. I would prefer this activity rather than spending my time on some networking sites where I don't earn anything. Have a nice day!

What is your online job? I have made money online and really do not consider it a second job. Mainly because not much money is being made with it. Do you care to share what you do online? Maybe you can tell others how you got started and they too can learn to earn online money.

I do not work 2 jobs. I do however work 50 or more hours per week at my one job. I average around 10 hours a day and really enjoy what I do. I work at a local factory and its been quite rewarding so far. And yes I did work today, but only 4 hours. The rest of the week I will be working 10 hours a day and then Ill get paid right after Christmas. What I usually do when I work these kind of hours is change my tax deductions so I pay less in taxes. I like to keep most of my check when I work a lot of hours. Do you adjust your tax deductions?

No i don't adjust my tax deductions because it's not often I work my 2nd job only when they need me. So I just take the money they don't take alot from us at my job for taxes anyways so I'm not worried. That 9 1/2 hour overtime will look good in my paycheck on thurs though

I found a website. Paycheckcity.com they have calculators that allow you to choose options and see what you can bring home compared to what your deductions are. You can also find out how much your gonna bring home in your check with your current tax settings. Its pretty accurate.

That sounds like a really long day! Does the night shift not ruin your following day? I am glad the extra income helps and hope you enjoy both jobs! I myself try and work a little at night in a new company I have just taken part ownership over so wishing us both luck!

No it does not ruin the following day for me working the night shift. I make sure to do it when it doesn't follow me having to work my regular job. Yes the extra money is always nice to have even when I don't need it.

Ok, are both part time jobs? Well, it's nice earn money especially for Christmas and New Year. I used to work at a residential treatment facility. In two weeks worth of pay, I was scheduled for about 70 hours (10 hours in each shift) since we alternate one Wednesday night. It was graveyard (overnight) shifts. Most of my time there, I had been able to pick up extra shifts for most weeks. On average, I was able to get 50 to 60 hours. Having overtime pay was nice since the pay was around $10.00. I got yearly raised, but the most was 3%.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, you must take care of your health, we all are working hard for extra money at the same time we must give importance to our health. If you don't bother about your health, you are in need to spend the extra money for hospital and doctor bills.

Everyone is saying this but my health is just fine. I don't very often work my 2nd job this is the first month I've worked my 2nd job in the past 6 months. They only call me when they really need me and I take the hours if I'm not already working my current job. I am doing this again next weekend as well but I'll be fine.

The working time reach 14 hours a day will be very bad for your health,so I think that may be you should care about yourself more even give up your second job,the health is the most important thing in the world, right? Or may be you should find some flexible time second job so that when you really tired then you can not work for your second job in this way.

I'm not about to give up my 2nd job, my health is fine and I don't work my 2nd job every day. This is first time I've worked it in over 6 months. My health is just fine I don't know why everyone cares so much, I always think about me first and I do it because I love my 2nd job and the ppl I work with. Not just for the money. I am fine but thanks for caring.

I certainly don't blame you for sleeping most of the day away. I used to have three jobs. One was a night job at an answering service. Got off at 7a. I would come home, get my daughter off to school, work on the phone for about two hours, then catch a bus to Burger King, work the lunch shift and then go back home. Worked on the phone another four or five hours and then go back to my might shift. Luckily I only worked three days at my lunch shift at BK so I did some sleep. And sometimes I didn't work on the phone early in the morning and slept. It was horrible. I did this for nearly a year. It got very old and tiring.

If you're able to work, it's best to work while you can. As for myself, I don't have a job. I'm a full-time stay at home mom. I don't think I can work the way you do. I get tired easily. I'm nearly 50 and if I don't get enough sleep, I'll have a terrible headache the next day. I suppose you're still a young person so you should be able to work long hours.

Wow..14 hours of work yesterday?? It must be really tiring... It also happened to me but I think more than a day and a half...I'm awake... Several years ago...I worked as a data editor and my shift starts at 6:00 in the morning... It ends at 2 in the afternoon but our work still haven't finished yet since the documents that we should analyze must pass the standard quality and the bulk of our workload... Then I had an overtime starts from 2 in the afternoon to 10 in the evening... Mind you..its not finished yet so another overtime until it finished around 3:00 in the morning... but then...I have work again at 6 but instead of going home to sleep... I still attend my 6:00 am shift!!! I think for several times....I almost doze off in front of work desk.....

I'm not really much doing what you do, however we all love extra money and will try to get much of them whenerver possible but be sure to be considerate to your health too, you won't want to get sick because too much work or working too hard. People are motivated to work hard -- or not so hard -- by an incredibly wide range of factors. The first includes ''external motivators'' -- the desire for money, power, prestige, and other rewards that can accrue from jobs well done. Many people are also motivated to work not quite so hard or so long by other external rewards.

Before, in my current work right now, we are required to finish all our tasks given to us within the day for many departments might be affected with the delay of operations if we do not volunteer to work over time. Of course, at the beginning of the month we are all happy because of the salary we could earn when pay days come. We will paid double then the usual we are earning. But then, as months go by, we think we are getting sick already and health got affected. So good thing, there is no more work over time already as it was very difficult because of the health gets into risk.

You are a hard working man. You will be rich for doing so and well provided. I think that is good. :-) However, have time to relax at times. Have a nice day!

I have two jobs, although one job is salaried, so I essentially do not get overtime. For the salaried job, I do not try to go out of my way to work extra hours considering I don't get paid for the extra hours. However, I do have a second job that I get paid from -- and I do pick up hours here and there. I work about 50 hours with my main job per week though, and go to school full-time, so I just... find it overwhelming to find time for the second job. Gah. Good for you for being so open-minded with hours. 14 hours in a day...That is a LONG LONG day! Good job though, overtime pay is awesome. Keep it up. My co-worker does that -- works 3 jobs and often works from 7am - 11pm everyday. I don't know how she does it.

It is really a wonderful feeling that you can be able to earn more than what others do especially when you out extra effort. But also do take care of your health. Have enough rest this weekend.

Extra money s good but take a look at always of your health. many people are being exhausted by their jobs just to earn extra money but the prize is, they become unhealthy which is more costly. So be healthy always. Don not forget to take care of yourself.
