Why is Facebook so popular. If people wanted to talk to each other they should call each other or text. Why read a status, that's what twitter is for :D

It doesn't cost anything extra to used Facebook , share all your pictures and current updates . You can look for your favorite business of interest and keep in current on every updates they made .

I don't think Facebook is really as popular as it used to be. In my circle many friends have left Facebook(now we are all working we have shifted to LinkedIn). Facebook is what people term convenient as it is one central place to look at everything going on in friends lives.

dear itpotter, i understood what you are asking. the Facebook is a social network.its not only for posting the status of an individual but also it helps to know the latest news, share rare photos and videos and also some times someone needs kidney, blood etc. but some person will misuse it. i think you saw only the other side of Facebook. see the positive side also. but i should agree that you said Facebook is an ADDICTION

Generally, Facebook and Twitter are two very popular social media platforms. However, they both create an different experience for people engrossed in social media. Facebook is more about creating a social experience for building strong relationships with friends and family. On the other hand, Twitter is more about having "followers" in order to keep up with popular topics and trends happening.
In my experience, Facebook is a social networking service site, which enables me not just to look at posts, but to also engage on knowing more about my friends like relationship status and which posts they liked. Twitter is more about micro-blogging which has a character limit on the posts. Also, for me, Twitter seems to be more of a platform used to market yourself rather than making friends. But that's just my opinion.

I dont know, But facebook has been too much addictive... As you know , It's like a fridge, You know there is nothing inside but still you keep opening it... :D
But as calling and texting is concerned, it costs money, but facebook is free... Plus you can video call, voice call anyone without any charge, on the internet.
Free SMS sending also has become possible because of internet. Its a great blessing.
I cant comment much about status updates, as i dont do any :D
Tc! Happy Sunday!!
