Omg another fruit cake for xmas... thats 5 already.
Ive gotten 6 gifts so far, from customers in my cafe. And 5 are fruit cakes.
i love them, for thinking of me.
But I hate fruit cakes..... so much.
These even weigh like 5 lbs each.
What do I do with them?

i'm one of those in the minority that love fruitcake!!!
i would say that the best thing to do with all this excess fruitcake is to give it to others. you can cut these up into small pieces and give some to your customers. you can donate a couple of these fruit cakes to shelters or feeding programs. the needy will appreciate it a lot!
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

well that was so nice of you mariaperalta.
i know a lot of people frown on re-gifting but rather than wasting the fruitcake, this is a better way to give out the fruitcake.

Since you have so any fruit cakes from your customers, and you are sure you hate having so many of them now, you may want to consider giving few of them to homeless shelter, orphanage house, or salvation army for distribution to those who haven't got any fruit cake from anyone for their Christmas holiday. In this way, you get rid of too many fruit cake in your possession, and those who can not afford or are not that fortunate like you can have some fruit cakes to eat in this coming holiday season. One stone killing two birds, you get rid of your excess fruit cakes, while other people get a chance to eat them. At least the hungry don't have to wait for Santa to deliver this brief moment of joy for their stomach this year if you do as i suggest. Bravo!!

Maye you can make some children or old folks happy by sending the extra fruit cakes to an orphanage or a home. I wouldn`t know what to do with so many fruit cakes. I`m slowly eating one but I`ve had it for about 2 weeks.

Thanks, friend. I guess this Sunday will be my last relaxed day until Christmas. I am invited out tomorrow. My brother sings at a choir and he invited me to listen to the choir (they will sing villancicos) and after that to dine out. Then on Tuesday I have to go to the super to prepare the goodies for my grandson who will come from Wednesday to Thursday to help me decorate cookies. On Friday I go to the big market to buy fresh veggies for Christmas as I will do the cooking to take to may daughter`s house. As you see, I have a full schedule

I am with you on this. I also hate fruit cakes. But put them out for the customers of the cafe. I am sure someone will have some. I would rather get cookies then a fruit cake. Maybe you could pile up the fruit cakes and make a fruit cake christmas tree out of them. LOL.

The idea for a fruit cake, seems good to me. But they all seems to turn out so hard, and with no flavor at all.

Invite a few friends over for a fruitcake tasting party?
I think that this is one of those times that it would be nice not to be thought of quite so much...
If you really haven't a use for them, and they are in sealed packages, you could likely donate them to a local charity. There are some people out there who do like fruitcake, so they likely wouldn't go to waste.

Maria, you are lucky to have received fruit cakes as a gift from your customers. Don't worry, you can always share them among with your family, friends and relatives, whenever they come to visit you. Even, you can post and share them with me, if you don't mind. Just jokes...As for myself, i usually would receive household item as gift from my relatives and friends. So, not sure this time around would receive what from them again...

Ha, I don't know why you always get so many. I would not like to get them either, just the thought of one of them is disgusting for me. I'm not sure what you could do with them other than feed it to the birds. What a shame though. Maybe something better would be to donate them to a food bank if you have them there?
