Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa)or the Calamondin is a fruit tree in the family Rutaceae native to the Philippine Islands. It is said that the tree is the result of a hybrid between species in the genus Citrus and unknown in the wild. It somehow taste like a very sour version of Lemonade. I used to drink a lot of Calamansi Juice when I was a kid if I have a cough. It is rich in Vitamin C and good for the skin. I recently found this store in a mall's food court where they offer iced cold Calamansi Juice. I became addicted to this juice and whenever I visit this mall, I always see to it that I will buy their Calamansi Juice. Have you tried a Calamansi Juice before?

Chiwa, i do like to drink calamansi drink, too. It is best to drink chilled calamansi drink during hot weather. It is quite expensive in my area here. Usually, i would buy and make my own calamansi drink and stored them in the refrigerator. Whenever i want to drink, i would take it out. I like chilled calamansi drink with a piece of the dried plum.

My wife and I loves calamansi juice. Before, we used to eat at Lola Idang's every morning and we usually order hot calamansi juice for both of us. Yes, it is rich in Vitamin C and as per my wife, it is also good for detoxification. I remember that for quite sometime, she's been drinking calamansi juice for the whole day. She told me it helps in detoxification. And before, she also used calamansi in her underarms. She apply them in the morning before taking a bath. She said it helps whiten underarms.

I have never had this fruit before, actually I have never heard of this fruit before. What family is it from? It's citrusy so it probably resembles an orange? One fruit I would like to try is a Jack fruit. It's like a watermelon in shape, but looks a little different on both the outside and the inside. I would also like to see and taste this fruit you are describing. I love any fruit for the skin! Thanks for posting this topic chiwasaki

You can drink a calamansi juice after every lunch time. This would help you release your phlegm from your lungs,so was your cough could also be cured.Try to sliced 15 to 20 pieces of this calamansi and make only one glass of juice out of it.You could observed that after several days of drinking the juice, especially if you have reach one week of drinking the juice. You could feel that you are having some heavy nostrils, then all of a sudden a sticky mass of phlegm would be coming out from your nostril and even your mouth could also release such thick phlegm out of your body.Calamansi juice is really effective in releasing this thick phlegm out of your lungs.Do not drink synthetic calamansi juice, just make your own calamansi juice,at least you would know it is real juice.Real calamansi juice does not make you feel like having some heart burn or any other stomach discomfort, yet drinking synthetic juices makes your stomach aches. So,just drink the real juice to feel the comfort of discharging bad elements from our body system.

Never heard of it until now. I don't know if I'd like it much since I'm not really into sour too much. I guess because its mostly grown as an ornamental here in the States there isn't much call. In fact, it only grows well in south Texas and I'm too far north, we get freezes here.

Hello my friend chiwasaki Ji, Well, We do not believe in any kind of addicytion. Nothing would lure to my hubby. Being wife I have alraedy triend all Indian methods. My hubby served completely upto brim in defense, and came out with all his habits as he joined 38 years earlier. He posseses strong will. He may carry 100 times money, bu he will restrict himself in buying, what he had made list befotre going to market. This particular juice, we might have taken, with our local vocabulary, provided it is veg. May God bless You and have a great time [em]thumbup

Yes, many times of course This don't only serves as a juice for me. I have used it before to my skin as well. My mom says it can make the skin whiter/smoother. And it's true. It's just that calamansi have become expensive now, and because here where I am now lemon is mostly what we'll see in the supermarket.
