I really did not regret doing such since blogger is very easy to use. It has also great features suited for beginners. I got two blogs already from blogger and my first blog is one year old already. As usual, it does good. I am able also to monetize out of my blog. Some advice I got also is to start a blog through wordpress. I think, you got to choose between these two: blogger or wordpress.
