Should government implement a stricter gun law?

I really sad to sorry about the Connecticut shooting. Pray for all the children and adults died in this cruel behaviour. When I heard about this news, I felt confused again why America go uncheck the gun and the gunman. Even if the Columbia shooting took place several years ago, the government still not legislated corresponding law to control the gun. Conversely, in my country, citizens are not allowed to own any gun or weapon. People have mixed view about this issue. So what's your opinion?
