The Belgian production line continues to roll out talent. The latest rising star is Christian Benteke. His two goal man of the match performance against Liverpool had Villa boss Paul Lambert drooling. Do you think he will be the target for top clubs in January?

I think Benteke's performance against Liverpool was the icing on the cake. But he has been very consistent after a slow start to the season. The last few weeks his performances have been top drawer stuff. Villa might struggle to keep him at the end of this season. Yes, Belgium production line suddenly seems to have stumbled on a bunch of excellent players off late!!
Cheers!

It is great to see these smaller countries producing great talent. Belgium's neighbours,Holland, have done it year in year out of course and it is good to see.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well that is absolutely great to hear about this rising star and i am sure many would have been surprised with his on field tactics and i know many clubs would have been alarmed with this performance. Of course if he keeps on performing like this then he will definitely be approached by a good club and we can see a future star in himself.
In fact many young and talent players these days are coming up who are giving a tough competition to the existing players.

Yes, it's great to see young emerging talent. One of the most exciting is Zaha who is currently at Championship club Crystal Palace....watch this space!
Benteke was not someone I knew too much about until Lambert was eulogising about him just a few days ago -this was before his superb display at Liverpool. His audacious back-heeled goal showed ability, maturity and confidence beyond his years. Long may he progress...it's just a shame he isn't Ehglish!

Yeah u are right, so many young talents are coming up and this means that football has a very good future. To be very honest, i do not follow football much but whenever i hear of some young talents or good matches i get excited and that is the reason i could not stop myself from responding here.
Besides it is not important to be an English man to be a good player. There are oodles of players from other countries as well who are immensely talented.

There aren't many,if any, world class English players in my opinion.Rooney and Gerrard would be the likeliest candidates but I think even they look ordinary alongside Messi,Ronaldo and Ibrahimovich even.

Well his manager Paul Lambert has been waxing lyrical about him recently -and this was BEFORE Saturday's demolition of Liverpool. Maybe he should stay quiet if he wants to keep him!

I don't think he has done enough so far this season to warrant a big move in January. However, if he keeps his form high for the rest of the season, I am sure that some of the bigger clubs will be looking to buy him in the summer.
Belgium are going to be a real tough team to play against if they make the world cup, they have so many great players like Hazard, Fellaini, Dembele, and now Benteke.

Yes,their National side is full of talent, although it does not seem to be gelling as you would expect at the moment. I hope it does...but not at England's expense! They owe us one for David Platt's last gasp winner in Italia 90.
