It is nice that some companies have days off in this special time

Now that is a caring company, but wouldn't it be better to have December 20th off as well to prepare for the 21st, because has anyone said what time the world will come to an end on the 21st? Will it be morning, afternoon or evening? Just December 21st is very vague!

wow.. so these are paid days. It is so nice to hear this. and I wonder what religious belief does this boss have. It is my first time to hear that the boss give employees of such holiday thinking that it will might be the end of the world. whooo hooot i like that boss

If the company feels that the world is ending, I would like to ask them to sell the company to me for a small sum of money I will be willing to pay now. That way they can enjoy that money before the world ends and as the world is anyhow ending there is no loss for them. :) Cheers! Ram

THe 20th is supposed to be the end of the world as we know it. Whatever that means. Nice of this company to give their employees these days off. After the fact.

Is that true? I wish I had school off that day because the world's supposed to end- oh wait, I'm not going to school that day anyways! I think that people should make up end time predictions more often so that we can get school off. Just kidding. :D There is the same chance the world will end december 21 as any other day. The Mayans themselves said that calendar isn't a doomsday prophecy, it's just when their calendar ends. Worrying on December 21 would be like worrying each december 31 that the world will end because that's when our calendar ends.

These days we are having a rest, but from the day after tomorrow, we will have to work for eleven days straight. How I wish to have a few days off like those people in those companies. Some of my students say that they will not come back for class tomorrow afternoon. If they don't come back to school, they will be scolded by their head teachers. This part of students say that they want to be with their family during those special days. Today my wife and I went to the mall and bought a lot of food. Now we are happy to be home to enjoy our dinner. Take care, youless.

Youless, those companies are really treating their staffs very well. So far, i haven't heard of any company in my area here that are giving off day for their staffs on those particular days. Same like you, i do hope it is not the end of the world yet. Since there are still a lot of things that i need to fulfill with my family. Do your company giving any special off day to you during those days?

Well, that is so nice of those companies to do that for their employers. At least they get that time to be with their families. I doubt that it will be the end of the world, so let them have fun on that day. And well if it is the end of the world, I'm sure those employees will ever be so grateful that they were give the time off to spend that ending with their families. Although they may not be alive to thank them for it.

Haha,that is really very interesting,and I think for those companies can not offer a days off also can have a party to play some role how to alive in the end of the world.

Wow. Interesting. Both my jobs have us working. Only days closed are Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

It is a good news for the employees of the said company but I hope it wasn't the end of the world.. the companies specially the private ones should have a lot consideration to their employees during occasions or happenings they should not always think of profit but also the sake of their employees..

I haven't heard this kind of news here in our country. If so..I am sure there's a lot people who will enjoy this vacation/day off. The malls and park will be overcrowded with people when this happens

One of the company we do work with is off from the 21st till the 7th of January! Now that is what I call a good boss. We will be off from noon on the 24th and return 26th for regular shift, no rest for the working class I guess.

oh wow the company is so much concerned about their staff. Really cool. But we don't have any holiday here.I wish i was there in the company.But seriously this a cool idea to give their staff some extra time to spend with their family. Though the world is not ending but people (we) can still try to gain the profits from the talk.

yes it is.. also many dont realise that thats a bonus, as several companies lose money by closing their doors over holidays. A big store as an example would sell things on xmas day if they were open. As always someone forgets things. But its great companies do close for their employees to enjoy the day with thier families...
