This holiday season, fireworks will be in demand again and of course we must be catious when using fireworks especially on New Year's eve. I heard in the news that some groups prefer the government's scary advertisement on their No to Fireworks campaign. They prefer this type of ads rather than showing the positive results of the said campaign. Such ads shows the incidents or accidents pertaining to fireworks which will really create scare on the citizens. How about you mylotters, are you still decided to use fireworks and firecrackers this holiday season? Ever since I never used fireworks and firecrackers during holiday season because I am really scared about it. Good day mylotters!

I used to play with fireworks during New Years celebration. But now, I no longer do. I can see that it is dangerous as I have seen many victims losing their hands and fingers during the explosion. I say to myself that new year can be celebrated even without the fireworks. Moreover, I can also save on expenses as fireworks requires money and now they are quite expensive.

I agree with you, I think the scary tactics by the government is really giving positive effects on the viewers and made them really scared about the possible injuries it may bring to you.

When I was young my uncle would buy lots of it and have it all lighted on X-mas day and New Years Eve. I truly enjoyed those time when I see a lot of explosion here and there and lots of fireworks around. But as time went on and my uncle got old it seems no one had really taken over my uncle's tradition of lighting up firecrakers and fireworks. My family actually never buys this product so for the past years already we always celebrate our Christmas silently again. I guess that is the real essence of Christmas is anyhow that is why we have the "Silent Night" song because Christ was born quietly and silently without any big bangs around. I think we should start doing that instead of the usual noise and merry making during Christmas.

I agree with you. Celebrating Christmas could not be as solemn as silently praying at home and having simple dinner and not by having extravagant fireworks displays.

well said.. more here in mexico. We dont have laws against fireworks. And every year here people set off so many. Many are like bombs and rockets. Even though the press warns people to be careful.. they dont. thanks for the great post today.. take care there.
