Prepaid Or Postpaid

Philippines

Nowadays, more and more promos on postpaid are emerging all over the country and on every network provider. In addition to a postpaid load, they are also giving away certain cellphone or gadget as a bonus in availing their promo. As far as I know, most of the postpaid are locked on certain years on the agreement, meaning, you need to pay for it every month even if you are not using it. Fellow mylotters, what do you prefer, prepaid or postpaid Cellphone load?

Hello Kenshin! :) There are pros and cons on both depending on the circumstances. I do have a prepaid and a postpaid. But generally, I like having a prepaid more because it has more promnos than postpaid. Besides, if you don't like the postpaid network that you are locked in, you cannot terminate it. It is like you are stuck in them for how many years and you can't do something about it. Again, I go more for prepaid. Postpaid have hidden charges. Like now, I will be paying a huge amount in just a month because of the hidden and unexplained charges. :( I wish they had explained this postpais hidden charges to all the customers so that we will know.

Whoah!!! That is really the downfall of having a postpaid plan because you are stuck with it for a couple of years. If ever during that particular period, you are disliking your plan already, you cannot terminate it and you need to pay it whether you like it or not.

I prefer postpaid cellphone load in view of the free cellphone. Like in my case, mine is a 349 pesos monthly with samsung galaxy y as the free cellphone locked in 30 months. I had been using postpaid subscription for over 6 years and I have already been given 4 phones.

Wow! that is very nice considering you already have accumulate 4phones from just subscribing to those postpaid plans. Are those 4phones still working? just curious.

Postpaid subscriptions have been emerging and many have actually tried to subscribe to them now because of the cheap option, you get to have a postpaid account that is consumable and a free phone along side it too. As my brother has computed, we will save even more with a postpaid plan (where you will have free usages) paying for about the same amount if you only buy a phone and have it paid in installment.

You are really benefiting from that postpaid plan you have. Its good for you, however not all people can really utilize such because of their circumstance.

I always prefer prepaid because it is the one where i will be able to know how much balance is available in my account and i can talk accordingly but in postpaid even u talk less, the service providers send more bill amount even though i didnt talk so much and if u fail to pay within a stipulated time then they will disconnect the service. Thus, prepaid is always the best for me.

It depends on how u use your phone. If u use it frequently, go for postpaid as u can avoid troubles like date expiration and etc. If u seldom use ur phone then go for prepaid. Cause if u use postpaid, u'll need to pay for monthly fee which is quite expensive in long term.

I'd go for prepaid. You will have an agreement with the company usually for two years. The postpaid is charging taxes and you should discipline yourself in using it or else you'll be shocked with the bill. If the phone you get is a smart phone, you should call them immediately on how to deactivate the automatic connection of wifi access. Because if you do not have an internet in your area and accidentally opened a feature that requires internet connection, they will automatically connect it and you'll be charged big time.

I never though that such feature on smart phone is available. Well, as for me, I would still go for prepaid. I can load whenever I need it and manage to not spend a cent if I do not need it.

I have both prepaid and postpaid accounts. Its just sometimes i do prefer to use or have prepaid account because it makes me limit my usages to whatever i can afford. it sure helps me to know and manage my money as well. =) Whereas for the postpaid account.. i have gone over my budget or monthly service fee even if i know i should be controlling the usages, i know i have but i have never managed to control the usages because i know i have post paid account.

I am a long time postpaid user. I think postpaid are not really for everyone. I find postpaid plans convenient for as long as you can manage & control your calls or text usage each and every month and you can afford to pay the monthly bills then there is really nor problem with loading anymore since you can call/text anytime since you always have this set amount every month to consume. The thing about postpaid is that if you are not careful with the calls you might just get overbudget and spend more over time. So you really need to estimate your usage on postpaid plans. The good thing about postpaid is that you can monitor your actual usage since you will receive a monthly bill to check your usage. By these you can truly say where your usage went and can complain about it if you think you were erroneously billed which may happen at times. With prepaid you can really control your consumption since you load when you consume all your loads. But the problem with prepaid is there are times you cannot really pinpoint where you consumed your calls or text since there is no billing for you to check how you consumed your calls and texts. If you are not careful you might also get technically robbed by the telcos since at times there are charges they put on your load without you knowing is eating up your balance. If they do this on postpaid plans you would surely see the summary and could complain this with them that is why they are careful with postpaid users as compared to prepaid which is really blind over how they consume their loads.

I use postpaid, as that is what I am used to, and my plan has unlimited minutes, so I am not using any minutes up at all, and to me that is ideal, as I talk to my daughter, who is on another carrier, and I don't usw any minutes, but she uses her minutes up when we talk. I have also unlimited data, which is ideal too, as I like to use my phone to do things, and I don't have to worry about using to much data. By the way, I have t-mobile, and they just recently changed to unlimited everything. I only pay $50 for the plan, and $20 is added for the data, and of course taxes, so my bill isn't all that much each month. Take care, and have a very good day.

I have been on a postpaid line for over ten years and wouldn't think of going back to prepaid except maybe if i had to travel abroad. There are benefits to having post paid and each user has to assess that for himself. For me, value for the buck was a big consideration, and the bundled phones too.

Hey kenshin2143, It's really ones choice and ones behavior of use which makes a man to decide what type of connections he needs. The main advantage of post paid plans are it provides a lot of good offers as compared to prepaid ones.

I am a one who support prepaid and who uses prepaid connection. I prefer such a connection because, it will ask us people to pay for the services which we use. In the case of post paid we people have to pay for the services even we use it or we don't use them. I feel such a connection will easily will empty our pockets.

First, before deciding to switch to a post-paid network provider one should think of the bills that they will receive in time for the payment due dates. You should be able to acquire a flexible financial income before signing the lease of the post-paid network since some terms of post-paid networks requires you two-years or more before you can cancel your plan. Although setting up a post-paid account for your handset is good since you don’t need to worry about losing cell-phone network balance, it’s somewhat mind boggling looking at your bills at the end of the month because you never know if you exceeded the bills or retain the same payment. Unlike prepaid, wherein you can decide how much you want to add in your balance.

I prefer prepaid because once i tired the postpaid and i used my cell phone like anything just for unnecessary talks. But if we use prepaid we have some control over the spending . so i use only prepaid from then.
