A dear friend sent this to me. I think there is way to much put into gifts and not about the true reason behind Christmas. Hope you will take the time to listen to this song and watch the little video with it. I thoroughly enjoyed it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln01p1M2cH0

That is a very cute little song and I certainly like the message. I don't want a Happy Holiday, I want a Merry Christmas! I understand that other cultures celebrate different days around the same time as we do. That has been the case for a lot of years! There is no reason to change the names of our holidays, they aren't changing the names of theirs!

Different cultures have way to much respect for their faith and religions. Somehow in this crazy fast paced world, parents (NOT ALL) do not make their kids get up and go to church. Heck I like to go and cannot get my husband to budge to go (yet when we were all children our generation HAD to go) So maybe it was weakness on the 70's generation on. I know my parents made me go to church every sunday until I started work at 15. They got me up and packed me off with the minister and his wife. While they did not go. It is very hard to go to church and members saying you NEED to get your mom and dad to come too. yea that was not happening. So while I had a good moral church upbringing, it was not through my parents. However when I was smaller and with my grandparents they sat with me in church every Sunday. So my grassroots for religion deemed from there. Thus my respect for the holidays through the year were special in honor of what they taught me. Never recieved a Christmas gift from my grandparents. Except for one year. Someone dropped off the smallest bibles and grandma took one for each of her grandchildren. When I went to visit them over Christmas in 1956 I got the tiny bible and 2 pencils. those meant more to me than any doll or toy that I cant remember. Christmas is special but not through what gift you will recieve. Sometimes its how its recieved. Merry Christmas to you sweetie!

I agree that there is too much focus on getting the perfect gift and not the real reason behind the holiday. Everyone is afraid of offending someone of another religion, you have to call the holiday something else, no mangers in public places ect. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

And to think since I am so knowledged in different cultures, I will say Happy Hanukka to Jewish people I meet. In Vietnam there were two ways to say Merry Christmas if you were of Buddihist faith it was Chúc M?ng Giáng Sinh If you were of Christian faith it was Chúa M?ng Giáng Sinh. Honestly though the children never cared how we said it they were constantly looking for the M&M's in my pockets for them. Regardless what faith or culture, the most important gift of Christmas is to remember Love and not to take CHRIST out of Christmas. Much love to you sweetie for sharing with me.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well that is so sweet of your friend and that speaks the love and affection your friend has for u. i think this is a very good gift for u before Christmas and in my view u should also give your friend something like this as a goodwill gesture in return for the song so that your friend will also feel the same as u have felt after receiving the gift. What say?
