Barcelona beat Athletico Madrid 4-1 in the top of the table clash. Real Madrid wasted more chances to collect all three points with a 2-2 home draw against struggling Espanyol. These results meant that Barca go 9 points clear of 2nd placed Athletico Madrid and 13 points clear of 3rd placed Real Madrid!!
With this big a lead are Barca already champions of La Liga at the half way stage itself!! Mourinho has almost conceded the La Liga title after yesterday's game!!
Cheers!

Tito Vilanova indeed has done a great job succeeding the works of Pep Guardiola.
Barcelona this season has returned to its superiority, after a season with no trophy last year, the last days of Guardiola.
But somehow, I feel La Liga became boring with this Barca's superiority. Well, maybe because I'm no fans of Barca nor Madrid. Or els, I'm no fans of La Liga

A bit of a late response, but the point gap is pretty much the same: Barca are 9 p ahead of Atletico and 16 p ahead of Real Madrid.
I don't think anything can happen that will make Barcelona lose the title. They've been wasting some points lately, but I think that's just because they can't concentrate any more. Loosing these points may sound the alarm and remind them they still have lots of matches to play, but I think they will win the title without many upsets.
Their minds must be more on the Champions League matches right now...

Both the Madrid clubs are the closest challengers and both clubs have conceded defeat. There is a possibility that this is another of Mourinho's mind game but seeing the gap and the form Barcelona is in, I think the La Liga is more or less wrapped up.

This time around I do not think it is a mind game. Probably Mourinho is readying himself for life after Real Madrid. I think Ronaldo's claim for the title of the best player will take a beating this season in line with Real's fall in performance as well.
Cheers!

Wow, I can't believe Atletico Madrid lost by such a high score. I think that there is no doubt now that Barcelona will be the winners. I know that Madrid could still catch up, as there is a long way to go, but Barcelona is way too good of a team that to drop that many points in the remaining games.

Barcelona seems to be invincible this season. They have not just been winning matches but won with big margins, even against some of the supposedly big teams. Messi is one of the reasons why but it is the strength of the whole Barcelona squad that makes it possible. Nobody cares too much about the injury that kept Cesc Fabregas out of the side as there are more than adequate replacements waiting on the wings to take the slot. Even all the great David Villa could get from that game against Athletico Madrid was just a mere 10 minutes.
Barcelona is going to win the triple this season.
