I guess with the Christmas day coming closer, many people are starting to get out of their houses and begin their Christmas shopping. I was out both yesterday and today and I found out that malls and supermarkets are extremely full and every counter has a modest amount of customers lining.
With almost less than a week, I guess many people are starting their preparations and others are way too eager to start the festivities. It is quite annoying but I think everybody is experiencing the same excitement and stress over the occasion. There are of course, Christmas parties to attend and gifts to be given and received.
With Christmas coming nearer, are you done with your shopping?

Not yet. We usually buy Christmas and New Year grocery needs a week before Christmas and this is no hassle as there are 3 groceries just near our place. Last week together with a friend we ventured to Divisoria to look for kiddie stuffs and prices are really low compared to well known malls particularly toys and other children paraphernalia. Good it's midweek and though there are already a lot of shoppers but the two popular Divisoria malls we went to are not that too crowded compared to its customers on weekends.

Killy for you. We also have different stores but they are packaged full. I did wonder how did I ever got of there without pushing someone. Midweek is a good time to shop, at least, they won't be too crowded as weekend does. I think that many people are really gearing up for the seasons. Wish there will be many still left.

That is definitely a problem. I think many shoppers would want to avoid the crush but seems to find themselves in it. Even people are extending themselves just to get their list complete. Nobody wants to forget any single one who would be expecting soemtihng.

Yes! We're done shopping last Thursday! Though some of the ingredients are not yet completed, but I guess we'll just buy them to the nearest store. It's quite disappointing that we don't have a party at school, but maybe that is also a good thing because gift materials will probably cost some money, especially we're near on the peak of Christmas season, so I am thankful for that. Plus, I don't want to be frustrated on what I am going to buy because I'mm annoyingly indecisive. lol.

I guess I am also quite indecisive when it come to gifts. Especially, if the recipients were men. I just don't know what they want in mind. It’s quite easier also if you really know the recipient but sometimes, it's also a like a guesswork.

Hey Jean, I feel you! Haha! I so have no idea about what they want. I don't know if they're all the same. I have two elder brothers here, and whenever they have gifts from others, they either receive perfumes, or Gatsby wax. lol! But they quite disappointed when people do that. SO I really don't know what they want. *sigh*

This season is the busiest season every year here in our place.
Therefore to avoid the rush, try to shop as early as possible.
Buy gifts 3 months before the season, take advantage with sale items too.
I don't like the long line of customers, but we cannot avoid it during this time of the year...
Happy Holiday

That is actually a practical approach. also, prices are still way down three months before At least, you can always check what you missed during the first shopping trip. I don't think anyone likes long liens and the people who always try to cut when there's already a long line.

I am all done shopping, baking, wrapping, and decorating. Of course, I do most of my shopping online, because I have a difficult time walking in the stores, but I do go to the stores to buy the clothing gifts. I try to get all the running around done early, because I know the traffic and lines in stores just keep getting worse and worse.
It seems that people who don't drive all year are out now, and a lot of people don't pay attention to what they're doing...they have their minds on other things, I guess, so I try to avoid going out right before Christmas.

I guess hopping online is now a very convenient idea since the actual stores will be crowded. the shipping fee will be just soemtihng that you will want to pay for in exchanged for being crushed in aisles. here in my country, online shopping isn't traditional but in cases like these rushes and crushes, it may be starting to be a trend.
That seems to be good practice. if you don't get angry at the lines at the store, the traffic liens will make sure to annoy you further and make your blood boil.

Hi friend, you are right, now Christmas is near and lot of peoples are busy with their shopping, it is really hard to shop in this last moment. We must plan for our shopping and do it earlier to avoid the last minute haste. Most of my friends did their Christmas shopping earlier and ready for the Christmas day

Planning is really essential or it will relay come and get us. I mean, we all have to stretch our patience because many people want the same thing all at once. There will be tempers but I wish we all have tendency to still wish the best of the season. After all, it's the attitude shoudl come first in sixths type of celebrations.

You could say that again! This is always the case during Christmas and New Year's holiday. In spite of all many tips we see on television to shop early to avoid the rush, it cannot be helped because this is the only time when most employers give the employees bonuses and other forms of Christmas incentives so it never change yearly.

I have to agree with you. It's always a rush because we all have so little time to make everything right and perfect. People are trying to juggle things and sometimes, it's just the rush that keeps us going.

Oh yeah last weekend when we went out to a mall there was no usual sale but then the mall was full of people trying to buy something. I think I can only see this kind of crowds when there is a sale of some sort but this time I realize that it was salary period so people must have their salaries received plus some bonuses so they are eager to spend it to prepare for the coming holidays.
So far my wife who has made her list is somehow done with it with just a few more for some special friends left to shop. But I think before this week ends everything is set and ready for the holidays.

I guess this is the start of the real spending season. I really like to have everything settled for this week so that anything that was forgotten will be still bought with the given time. Also, it' better to check if everything is complete. No pint in rushing when more people will crushing in the last hour of Christmas and the new year.

I am not done with my shopping yet as I have just arrived home. I have been traveling for this past few days due to my work. Well, I am completely free for this week til the first week of January. I will devote my free time this week for shopping gifts for Christmas. Perhaps I will just start out early so the would be not much people in the mall. I really hate to move when the place is very crowded.

You can catch up! At least you have the week off to get things done. Also, it would be a good opportunity to revisit home and feel all the comforts that it brings. I think everyone hates the crowds but when you don't have the time to spare, you just have to ride it all out.

Hi,
I have not done all of my shopping list for now, my money is still to be collected with the unfinished projects I am doing now. I can tell that the malls are filled to the streets with holiday shoppers and there's no way I can tackle the rush.
Maybe I shall do my shopping when the holiday hullabaloo is over, I can avail of lower prices then, if there are still some left on the shelves after the panic buying rush of the season.

Well, I cannot attest to the panic buying but I think markets will also have extra supplies and supplier. They don't want to get short of items, especially when it comes to Christmas or things needed for a good feast. i just saw people carrying two to five large boxes full of things to be cooked in the next few days. Kitchens will be busy no doubt. Good
luck in completing your list. I expect more crush as the days go by.

I've got the same experience last Saturday. I had planned to buy this particular sandals in a mall, but I've waited till my withdrawal in paypal went to my local bank account, and when it did, I had been so busy in college, organizing our school annual sports fest, so I had postponed it for a week. And when Saturday came, the affair is finally over and I successfully made my first withdrawal with my EON account, I was really surprised that there were so many people in the mall I've gone to. During regular days, people don't pile up in that small mall than it did last Saturday, it's actually beside an SM mall, so people would always flock in SM than that mall I went to. Then I remembered that, Christmas is indeed coming soon, and I haven't even started any Christmas shopping for myself. I don't really enjoy walking for a long period of time, especially when just wandering in the mall aimlessly looking for something to buy, and it's even worse when there are so many people who would accidentally hit you back and forth, I've always hated crowds.

I was about to do the house bills and the grocery. I postponed the grocery for the day because the people are just so many. It’s hard to get some decent shopping done when you get to the mall. The same thing happened in the market. I thought it would be Christmas already or the New Year. I enjoy walking in malls sometimes but I don’t think I enjoyed it such with too many people and too many children around. Like you, I also hate crowds.

Of course. I think nothing will stop anyone from buying gifts. It's an occasion that only comes once a year and where giving things are really appreciated (except for birthdays and otehr special occasions).

I'm done with the shopping because I started buying last September. I know it's too early but malls here are having their last sale every November and I hate to shop when there are too many people bumping. It is very tiring to shop when there are too many people and the restaurants are almost full. I also hate getting to long lines and I have always experienced that when I was a kid because my mom loves to rush. What I don't have right now are the meats for Christmas Eve and I will be buying that on the 23rd.

it is always crowded because they are excited for the upcoming Christmas and there are people who are busy so they make sure they make even the smallest possible time they can but goods for Christmas. I know many people can't celebrate Christmas because of the calamities they experienced but they make sure they can celebrate Christmas with love.

no because we ran out of money. we don't have credit cards so we have only used cash for our Christmas present buying. we are expecting a cheque sometime this week so we will finish it sometimes this week. we don't have much to do but still we have some yet to finish. i have wrapped all the stuff that we have bought already though which is good.

At least already done something. It's better than rushing everything all at once. it makes a good recipe for stress rather than a bit of enjoying the season. You can start on things not yet done and complete it beofre the festivities.

Yes, we must all prioritize our bills and take whatever left for a everything else.it would be nice if bills could be lower year after year but it seems to be trending in the opposite direction. Then again, that's where the skill of budgeting comes in.
