Uncertainties in Life

December 17, 2012 5:06am CST
What if? A very common question that each and everyone encountered, experienced and struggled with in life. This question is probably the inly question that pops up or popped up in anybody's or everybody's mind, sometime or more often in others. A student may ask what if I fail in my exams? An employee may ask, what if I didn't get the promotion? Or worst , what if I get laid off? A businessman, what if my investment fails? So many what ifs in life that one can't really be sure on what the future holds. How do we face these what ifs situations in life?

You are right everything is uncertain in life few minutes before we laughed and few minutes after we cried because some sad incident happens. The same is in business in one month more profit and in next month more loss. I am not interested for investment because now forex market is going down. I invest my 10000 rs. in Reliance shares but the share amount was opened in less 270 to 100 I lost my money so now not trust on any investment other than LIC.

yes so many what if's, but i would rather think about the good ones, what if i get promoted this year what will i do to thank my boss? what if i call my girlfriend tonight and tell her again how much i love her? what if my earnings here would accumulate and i get paid what will i do with it? what if i start saving more money now than i have done the previous months? what if i get rich, will i be the same person i used to be?

When I'm trying to make a decision and the decision turns out wrong then I wonder "what if" I would have done it the other way how would my life turned out. I know that in every decision I've made I've done the best that I thought in the situation. Even with that being said I think we all have inquiring minds when it comes to decisions that we made that haven't turned out the way we wanted them to. "What if" I would have done it differently? Good discussion!

Well, you need not to focus your attention to "what ifs" in life, rather you should need to foresee all the positive thoughts so that you can successfully direct your travel to a target destination sans entertaining doubtful "what ifs". the word "what if" is actually a form of anticipated failures. And why we need to be afraid of it? failure is everywhere, no successful person succeed their goal without experiencing failures. We should need to know how to accept what ifs or failures for us to see the greatness of winning in all our endeavors.

Very true Gilmegans, saying "what if" after the fact is a form of regrets and will cause us to wonder for the rest of our life. We may say the "what ifs" , not to be sorry of the decision we chose but rather to look ahead and learn that when deciding things we need to weigh both sides of the coin and whatever outcome - good or bad - there is always a "next time" for everything.

I have a hanging what if question and that is what if I invest in Forex? Until now I do not know the answer because I'm afraid that I will lose big time. I'm trying to learn the basics and hopefully this question will be answered next year.

Try to look out for the latest news or feedback from friends, people who have been investing in Forex. Having a comprehensive knowledge in things you want to get into helps to ease out on the what ifs.

Those are negative thinking well its normal but soemtimes we have to fight and think the possitive way. Its not healthy that we always think the negative way. I already learn how to deal this kind of thinking I always pray for a good success in what I'm doing.

I've had so many "what ifs" in life particularly when I was younger. Now, I generally deal these with prayers seeking for guidance on how to handle situations and fortitude to face and accept the outcome.

Yeah I agree with you. There are a lot of uncertainties that we face in life. However we will never know about something unless we try. Therefore when we have goals and dreams we should do our best to prepare for them. We have to adjust to our ever changing circumstances.

Life indeed is full of uncertainties, and we call them great challenges of learning. It wont be challenging anymore if we are all certain in everything we do. Of all the creation of God, humans are the superior one for we have the gift to decide, to chose the rightness and wrongness of an act. When we decide for something, we are responsible to stand for the outcome and there is always the " what if" we chose the other - what will be the outcome.

Hi Life itself is uncertain . so obviously everything will be.But still continue to worry about everything even though when we know its uncertain . That's life . Time teaches us everything when we face certain problem how to face it. No need to learn it from before. Everything comes with time.

All sum up to 'life is full of risk'. You either take it or leave it and then change to other route. If exams, you just got to go for it if you had studied well. That's what it said, life is a gambling. You will not know what will turns up next when you are going to face it.

There are also many what ifs in my daily life, but we should face what we must to do.Just do it.just like your goal is to learn a new skill, learn it,and see what happends. It might not be as challenges as you thought.

Hi henrybjr. 'What if' is part of LIFE. Confidence and high self-esteem usually helps a person get through the 'what ifs' in life. We cannot subside disappointment while on earth. Laying down will mean that we accepted defeat, so... we should continue life and know that there will be more challenges tht we will have to overcome in the future.
