Why do people want a white Christmas then hate the snow when it comes?

Okay it just bother's me why some people rave how they hope it snows so they can have a "White Christmas" Due to some Perry Como or Bing Crosby song some years ago. First a good portion of the world unless a freak weather situation occurs won't have this due to the location of the country they reside in. Such as Australia or South America. Florida, New Mexico and Arizona and Texas. And other locations. Then they get their wish and moan and groan about power outages, slippery dangerous conditions and auto accidents and more problems sometimes flooding. Seems they want their cake and eat it too. So do you like snow, winter and ice and sleet and all the problems, do you think it is going to stay pristine and pretty very long? It is treacherous and dangerous and not fun, cold and slippery. For me I wish it would rain and not have snow except in the high elevations mountains where it is needed.

I would like to see a white Christmas. Just sort of comes with the territory of being Christmas. We have had snows in the past where it simply snowed on the grassy areas and trees. Talk about beautiful as it glistens in the sunlight. I agree about having a mound of snow on the streets and highways because it can be dangerous. What scares me more than snow is freezing rain that turns into ice.

Well it does if you live in the northern parts of the world, but southern places snow is a rarity there. When we have winter they are having summer. So snow would not be welcome there LOL. But mostly people want it to be pretty, pristine and picturesque which it is for a short time seeing the trees laced with snow and white snow covering the ground. But does not last long sadly. Then it needs shovele, plowed and piled places and it freezes and gets slick and treacherous. Of course the snowboarders, skiiers' and snowmobiler's love it as do the sledder's and snow tubers. Kids love it to play in. But not fun to drive in.

I would love a white Christmas, because I do not get snow here, I think people like snow, they just don't want to be snowed in.

I am in Canada we get snow all the time,we want a white christmas it is traditional and sets the move. Snow is not always dangerous most of the time it is not. Icy conditions occur when the weather is not yet cold enough so rain turns to ice. Snow storms are not the norm either for Christmas in Canada. A beautiful light snow fall is the norm and Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without it. Many years we don't even get snow on Christmas.
