Days like today I wish my kids didn't share so well!

My daughter stayed home with the stomach flu on Friday. Saturday she was mostly better and my son came down with it. Last night at work I started feeling kinda sick. Within an hour of getting home from work it was official. I had it too! My daughter is fine, my son is mostly better, and I feel horrible. We all stayed home from school today though. I kept my daughter home for 2 reasons...#1: to make sure she was totally over it and #2 because neither my son nor I were going to be able to walk her to the bus stop and back with how we feel. She was of course bored out of her mind today because we were both sleeping on and off all day when we were not running to the bathroom. Are your kids good at sharing their illness? Have you been feeling under the weather lately?

Oh let's see.. It started with my littlest 2 weeks ago. He came home Monday night and missed the whole rest of the week of school. He went to bed on Monday and didn't wake up until Thursday afternoon. Naturally the 6 year old got it next. His started Tuesday.. he too slept straight through till Thursday afternoon. That Friday the oldest had a sore throat and the daughter didn't feel so hot either. I sent 1 child to school that day. By last Monday everyone seemed better. Thursday my daughter wasn't doing good again and needed to come home early from school. I kept her home Friday though she seemed better. Then the oldest had to come home on Friday because he was getting sick again. Today, again, everyone seems better.. but the daughter came home and said she might stay home tomorrow because she still wasn't feeling so great today even though she was well enough to go to a sleepover this past weekend. Other than a killer headache for 2 weeks straight, I've been fine. Hubby was really sick (actually it may have started with him) and he's been a little back and forth also. My 10 year old son is the only one who hasn't missed school or seemed sick at all.. lucky little brat! LOL

Wow, your youngest 2 really slept it off huh? Maybe your 10 year old son has a super immune system? My daughter was better by the time it really hit my son and for sure by the time it hit me. I told her to stay away from us as much as possible so that she didn't get it again.

My kids are fully better, but I am not. I guess the going strong from pretty much 7 am till 2 am all week while I was feeling bad isn't helping me get better though. ( I skipped school on Monday) BUT...from 3 pm today till 6 pm tomorrow I don't have to do anything but bring Lily to school and get her off the bus, so I should be able to catch up on some rest and hopefully get better. I kept feeling dizzy at work last night.

That's what I think is happening here.. we're giving it back and forth, or the kids are picking it up again from kids at school. It's hard to shake.. my younger 2 really don't seem fully better yet. I mean, they're better, but they're still going to sleep at like 7pm on their own, which is not like them, especially since peanut naps at daycare. Normally he's not asleep before 10pm..

Oh gosh..when my children were little, that is one of the only things that shared..lol. I was sick a couple of months ago but I am better now. I usually get sick one good time during the season.

Glad you are feeling better! I normally don't get really sick, but the last few years I have had a few bad spells.

Ah yes, that's the one thing this family is very good at sharing - sickness! Especially if one of the kids gets it first. It will spread to the other 2 and then to mom and dad. Aren't families fun? LOL!

Thanks! We are all feeling much better today. We all went to school and survived and I am going to work in a little bit.

It is almost always impossible not to get sick if one member of the family has it. Usually, it is I who gets it last.

Yes! Every time one gets sick the other two are bound to get it too. That is the only bad thing about sickness with kids. They seem to spread it like wild fire! Lol. I hope you all feel better soon. I hate being sick like that, its awful!!

I am sure my 5 year old got it from someone at school who was sent in to school sick. Grr...there was just a note home last week about keeping your kids home if they are displaying any signs of illness too!

Yeah, unfortunately it seems to go like that. Growing up, if me, my mom, or my sister got sick, eventually all three of us had it. My dad never got it though. I don't know what that says. Does it mean he had a really great immune system? Or that he didn't hang around with as much?

Probably immune system, but it is possible that he just was smart enough to steer clear! My daughter had the mildest case of it and I have it the worst.

I don't know if the stomach flu takes the form of high fever and sickness. My granddaughter caught a cold yesterday .She has a sore throat and has a bad cough .Fortunately, she isn't affected with high fever. We generally get her treated with Traditional Chinese Medicine.Hope you will soon pick up!
