I would like to start my own online store. but i am still hesitant, I was thinking of selling either selling homemade jewelry or baby clothes, but i'm scared that i may not make any money off of it. I know in jewelry there is a lot of competition but i dont know if ill make money with it, i would be confident in the product cause i make it and i would not have to go out and buy the product off someone. However with the baby clothes i would have to find someone to buy the product from and i dont know how reliable the product is how well it will sell. i was think of selling on ebay. could you guys offer me some advice.

Have you looked into using Etsy.com? It's a great site for people to sell things that they've made. Personally, I know someone who has sold a good amount of things from their Etsy store. It only costs $0.20 to post an item and users can buy your items and pay through PayPal. Etsy makes buying and selling easier for both the buyer and the seller (plus, it's a great community where people will be able to see your work and spread the word) -- I recommend that you check it out! :)

i know someone who sells her art on etsy and does pretty good also. etsy seems to be a great site for home made goods and gets a ton of visitors who are looking for unique items.

You want to, just give it that shot. You have to take the risk once its what you like to start doing online. And be carefull of scams, get all the information you want and you can start the bussiness.

My suggestion is Etsy as well. But you would really need to do top quality work. I would suggest that you sell to friends and family first and then, perhaps to a local market, or see if a shop would agree to sell your jewelry on consignment. Another idea is to repair jewelry. Perhaps take a class on stringing and knotting pearls necklaces, etc. Perhaps you could get started making money by doing repair work. I don't think there is much competition with repairing jewelry. And perhaps what you can do is offer to make matching jewelry to the necklace or whatever you repaired. You need to find something unique. In the jewelry business, it really does need to be something that is unique and good quality. All the best to you.

First. You have any experience with websites? Do you ever bought a domain, hosting etc.? You know the basics? If you want to make some money online it's more profitable to make a blog on a niche. If you really want to make an online store think... make a plan. Calculate. You will need to buy publicity, visitors. Is more simple with a blog for start.

I do not know much about selling things online, but doesn't it require investment? If you are still scared about starting an online store, why not sell it on eBay or just sell it offline. For the time being, that would work better as you are confident about your products. Once you sell more and more and earn more, you may feel confident about starting an online store. Good luck!

I would suggest to test it out first by opening either a store within eBay or Amazon. This will help avoid any outlay of capital. If you find that you are successful there then you might consider whether to continue or start your own website. Good luck.

at first selling online needs a lot of hard work so be patient about it.. it is hard to sell online.. the competition is really stiff but if you start selling your buyers will comeback if they had a good service from you.. sell what you are good at or at least you are interested in.. research about other sites that sells also like your product from their you will get an idea on how you will sell yours.. research also about your products on how you will make it different from others.. goodluck

it's business, off course any knid of business will have some risks like the stuff will not sales even for one item. so, you dont need do researched for item that you want to sell because you have already know what will you sale on your ecommerce. You will good hosting for keep your online store script online, find good name for your www, choosed your payment for order purchased like paypal or something else, choosed your shipping company and counting how much to pay for shipping bill. and limiting our area order, it's for over the world or just limited country. agghhh, one more thing, dont forget buy your SSL, secure socket layer to make sure your customer that your store are save while customer make payment.
