Does Cannibalism in this case is not a sin?

I read this news from the Yahoo Philippines where 2 Russians were rescued from being lost from a remote area. And suddenly admitted that they ate their companion's corpse for the purpose of survival. :)

I am not sure whether it is sin or not. But it is a terrible thing to look and it is immoral.

Yes, in this case it is looked upon as survival. Cannibalism can be found in alot of religions and such too. When it is looked upon this way it doesn't seem quite so bad. And, of course, their is the famous story of the Dommers too.

I am not sure if they can be charged of that. Coz the Russians were struggling to survive. This has also happened in 1972 where a group of Rugby players were involved in crash at the Andes Mountains. There were 29 deceased and 16 survivors. And the means of survival of those people who survived was that they ate their companions. They were stranded for 12 days on that snowy mountain.

I don't mark anything as a sin. In Hebrew sin came from archery and means missing the mark. Therefore, I do not use the word sin. Morally, I do not think cannibalism was wrong in the story you have listed.
