Are you a Jesus' Brat?

You might be wondering what Jesus' Brat means, so here it is...
Jesus' Brat is a word I made myself to refer to those people who are very religious. They say they love God because they are very blessed but when hard times come to them they start to question God's love and then gradually lose faith in him.
Why brat? because this shows immature behaviour, low integrity and low faith. Plus very annoying too, like a spoiled kid who is kind and loving to those who give him every thing he wants and when denied those wants, immediately throws a tantrum.
They are somewhat false believers in my opinion.
So are you one?
Me... I sure am not. I don't blame God for the bad things happening in my life, never.

Some (seed)fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
all the best,urban

deep!
So it has something to do with having a strong foundation of faith that will keep someone strong.

I am a Muslim. The word Islam derives from a root word salam which means balance or peace. In times of troubles, I do close my eyes and feel that The Creator is always there.Life has a day and night. If you are a believer you will understand why a certain thing happened.Pain, sorrow, grief and so on are just tools to let us awake and put attention to the other side.I believe that life has a formula and if you discover the equation and comprehend the elements for both sides then you will be able to live in balance.

That's a good way to put it. Life being a formula that we have to learn through experiences to make us stronger and understand things better in a better light. Thank you for the response.

no, i am more of a Jesus freak who has sold out for God. you shouldn't blame God for anything as he has a plan for our lives. He sees our lives from beginning to end and so obviously can see more than we can thus He knows the big picture. He cares about every aspect of our lives and has told us there would be hardship and trouble. everything happens for a reason even though we may not be able to see what that reason is.

I get the Jesus freak. I don't see anything wrong with being one except when Jesus freaks start saying 'you are wrong, this is write because Jesus and God says so' Now that's annoying haha!
I agree with all you have stated here.

Probably. That is, I know that 'Christ in my life' is more-than 'the stamp of having believed in the Jesus-myth.' It is sort of 'the force' behind my action in the world today---the fact that my debt is--as Jesus said before He 'released His spirit'--"paid-in-full" (mistranslated "It is finished").
That is to say: My actions--except for those which other forces cause me to take (in instinctive reaction to them)--are my own. It doesn't matter if G*d tells me to do something (or if some pastor/scholar/priest tells me that The Bible 'sez' to do something) or what, 'the decision to do it or -to not do it' is mine alone---i.e. the guilt/honor of my actions is mine to bear.
(Just in case 'Jesus-myth' offends you: calling it 'the Jesus-myth' isn't to say that it's ENTIRELY false (although--after the Crucifixion--you have to put a lot of trust in the story-tellers (disciples) if you wanna go along with what they tell ya), but it's more saying that His life is more like PROOF that we are forgiven than -PAYMENT for what we're forgiven-for.)

You don't have to be in something to believe it. I believe in all faiths.

Not religious but believes in God. Some people tend to confuse those. I'm glad I'm not one of them.

I don't have the right to be a Jesus' Brat because God have given me so much in this life ,so shameful if i would still complain . I can't stop myself thanking God for this life and for all the blessings. Despite with those still sometimes i go against his teachings. I can't perfect myself. I keep on faltering . Sometimes blind , deaf and mute but still God back ups me and love me unconditionally. So no way for me to be a bratty girl.

Good to know that angel!
It is indeed shameful to forsake God if we don't receive what we want from him any more. It is also our task to attend to our responsibility and our life to make it better, we don't rely on God for actions. He is simply there to watch over us, back us up and reward and bless those who deserve it.

Oh dear sorry! But with due respect I want to say it is not appropriate to call those kind of people as Jesus' Brat. In the first place, it was never Jesus who mold them into such kind of people and Jesus never tolerates such kind of misbehaving people. As for me, it is okay if you call them brats, immature or whatever negative term but no need to tag the name of Jesus to them because it does not sound good. First, the name of Jesus is holy and shouldn't be mixed with any negativity.

I think that there is a difference between Religion and a Christ Follower. Anyone can be religious, and do all the 'right' things, and that does not mean that he/she follows Christ. God's love is forever and we make bad choices sometimes. Bad things happen to good and bad people, and we must always remember to hold on to God's Goodness when we face challenges in life.

What I think matters is a person's actions and application of the words of God. It's not really about being religious and doing all the rituals one is expected to do in a certain religion.
Thank you dee!

you can call the old me brat.. from what you mentioned, i used to blame and complain when something bad / not pleasing happen to me.
but over time i realized what i think and what i did totally wrong.
I shouldn't have blame God for bad things happen to me. instead must Thank Him for not giving a burden which more bad than the current one.
God has a plan on every and each of us. like a wheel sometimes we are on top sometimes below.
Cheers!!

That's very good Cetz. I hate that people blame God for every little thing.
I even hear that maybe that's why people invented God so they have someone to blame. That's so wrong!
